2007 Corbin

They took their lumps last year agreed. It just made a good team better. This year it will be almost impossible to match up to Corbins line-up! Five monsters on the line, both sides of the ball. Led by the likes of Nolan, Hayden, Taz, Martin, Taylor and CO. Big, Big, Boys and Strong. Then you have two awsome recievers in Madon and Wagers let alone Freeman, Sewell, French and Rossie, all very talented and experienced. Now lets talk about CJ, Fritts and Watkins, strong quick Running backs. Amburgy who will hit with the best of them. Last but not least Corbin has a double edge sword. Cashen the best QB in Kentucky, and to add fuel to that fire Campbell, a back you will have to double and triple just to slow down! This along with many talented reserves and you have the makings of the real deal. Thats why everyone is so excited. It's not every year things like this come together.

Very well put and I couldn't have said it better myself. With the expectations you and I along with many others have, people don't need to confuse us as saying they need to go ahead and mail the trophy to Corbin. I believe we are saying that three pieces of the puzzle are there for Corbin to bring home #6. 1. Talent 2. Coaching 3. Experience. All they need is that 4th and final piece that even the best teams need and that is the touch of luck in the playoffs. It could range from anywhere to a tweaked ankle to weather conditions to a good spot. Every team needs it but every team doesn't have the other three things in place that Corbin has.

"Cashen the best QB in Kentucky"... IMO he is a good QB but to say he is the best in the state of Kentucky is a stretch...With that said I look for the Hounds to be very good this year...

I agree with that statement about Cashen being the best. I know I am a Corbin fan but I try to look at the big picture. I honestly feel he is and don't think it's really that close. With that said, we still have some fine quarterbacks in this state. The kid from Lone Oak and Shelby County (I think it is?) both come to mind.

IMO There are alot of good QB's this year, Cashen being the best!! No Stretch. He has never had a chance to show his stuff. His arm is awsome, what a gift, and his leadership and head for the game is outstanding. Guess i should say he will get to prove it this year You need all the supporting cast to show your stuff, Coaches, Players, Fans and a little luck. Think we have it all this year, Time will tell. Fun to be bold though!!!!

It is a good feeling to support a team and school that has a legitimate chance of making it to the carpet. Many schools are satisfied with just making the playoffs. I like the fact that the bar is set high and the tradition is there to play for something that is attainable if the stars line up just right. However state championships are not handed out on potential, paper or talent, we all know that the real results come with a much bigger price to be paid. Corbin has a good chance to accomplish alot this season. Good luck Hounds.

I look for the Redhounds to have a great season. If the fans will stay patient and remain behind the players, and coaches they could exceed most expectations placed on them. Coach Jewell and his staff continue to run a top notch program and we would have to look long and hard to find a group that is more dedicated and determined than them.

Placing the weight of the world on Clint’s shoulders is somewhat unfair in my opinion. He is an extremely talented player, and has the ability to lead his team to great things, but he cannot do it alone. He always gives 110 percent on every play. With his leadership and the talent level of the players around him the Redhound faithful should have a lot to cheer about this season.

Keep working hard players and coaches! The BIG RED NATION is behind you! :thumb:

Did Josh Sanders quit this team; I think he lead the team in rushing, scoring,& was among the leaders in receptions???

Josh should be one of the leaders of this year's Redhounds. He will have to carry a big load from his linebacker position, so it wouldn't surprise me to see his offensive numbers go down a little to keep him healthy and fresh.

I hear the injury bug has already hit.........Campbell, Sanders, French and a few others

What are the injuries? From what I heard it was just tweaks and banged up a little at camp. I hope it is nothing more.

Campbell- High Ankle Sprain

Nolan- Back injury (pulled muscle i was told)

Lewallen- Shoulder injury ( MRI on Thursday)

Freeman- Hip flexor injury

French- Asthma problems

I think nothing major. I heard Swell has some issues to. Let me know what they say about Guy. True Redhound.

This is exactly what I was talking about. NO WAY is Cashen the "best QB in Kentucky". He's good. ANd will lead the hounds to many wins, possibily even a state title. But will he get a college scholly at QB? No. WIll other QB's in Ky? Yes. To me that's the ulitmate judge, what the college coaches think.

It's been 25 years since Corbin won their 5th title

Corbin only has 3 titles- 1982, 1980, and 1976. Corbin were state runner-ups in 1977 and 1962. :thumb:
