Fayette County Schools were cancelled today due to high amount of absences in both students and staff. In his announcement the superintendent also announced that all afternoon and evening student activities are canceled for all schools. So Douglass will not be allowed to practice today.

Yes both staff and students it was called off a little after 4 yesterday.

I can assure you no one is underestimating FD. If anything, they are being overestimated. 

Colonels are underdogs, they know it, FD knows it, everyone else knows it. 

But, they stop the run, they win. Which fortunately, is the best part of their defense. Easier said than done. 

You play the game for a reason. 
 

FD can throw the ball and they can throw it well enough to win games. They do a good job of formationing, shifting and motioning to get what they are looking for. 
 

The best defense they’ve played against is their own everyday in practice. Across the board it might be the best defense they’ve had there. The safety play is extremely impressive and they for sure have some dudes up front. 
 

They are better on O and D than they’ve been in the past. That isn’t about stats as much just being harder for teams to prepare for. It’s going to be interesting to see how it all plays out Friday. 

Just curious, let’s say both Colonels and Birds lose this Friday. When was the last time (if ever) at least one of them wasn’t competing for a region championship/ playing in a 3rd round game?

It feels like it has been awhile-at lease pre-2016. The Birds have not been very good.
