Congrats for the birds the past two weeks.  I really hear some encouraging things now let’s get ready for the real season!  Offense has been great; so very encouraged about the defense! Burleigh has two offers and we know an undefeated team that would love to have him next year!  Continue to roll!  Very exciting and truly what we expected!!!!

These guys have won EIGHT in a row and we see people complaining about "touches", right people not playing etc. WOW. They are getting better each week and doing what they need to do to WIN. You take what the other team gives you..... that's the real mark of a well coached good team. This region has some nice teams.

Offensive play calling was very suspect.  They learned something on the safety; the next time they were backed against their goal line Benke went straight up the gut for a first down on the 11!  Run, run, pass.  Might have fit the game plan but anyone watching could predict what was coming.  Bird's made some great plays with the screen plays to the running backs; definitely would have used that play more often.  Running Noon up the middle not the best use of a supremely talented athlete.  Time to rest and get ready for a playoff run.  Seems like a long time since we finished 1st in the district.

The offensive coordinator has no idea what to take. And first down is 2 yards up the middle to #3 about every series. Not hard to predict. If 2nd down is incomplete or another yard up the middle, they’re struggling to get a first down. Keep the defense off balance. And involve the best player on the team in every way possible. It’s no secret who that player is. 

When you run horizontal from the 1 yard line it is a recipe for a safety! I will take a couple of runs to give the punter a little room in case you have to punt.  See it happen every Saturday and Sunday!

As I told another poster.....you guys all wanted more community involvement. Share your knowledge and observations with the coaching staff, they will most assuredly appreciate it. I really don't understand your first sentence.....Do you think that possibly the play selection has something to do with the opponents defense? Usually you do film study and decide where a team's biggest weakness seems to be and try that first.

Last night was for a single season. He is approaching the career record. I thought I heard last night that he needs 3 more for the career record but that could be wrong. 

Sophomore Mason Stanton for Cooper was in on 14 or 15 tackles the kid flies to the ball. I just don't understand why they don't use a kid that fast on offense. As a Freshman they last year they put him at the Wildcat position and just let him run it.

Overall Highlands looked good/great. Defensively you can’t ask for a better performance. Charlie Noon is the most dangerous weapon of the team for sure. I would like to see more intention of getting the ball in his hands. But, I try not to judge the coaching, they may be trying to not to use up all the Noon magic. Or maybe Coopers defense focused on Noon and opened something else up? They got a convincing win against a good team, really shouldn’t complain. Congrats to the team on the development over the season, very impressive improvement. 

People suffer from short term memory loss. Where this program is now and where they were 2 years ago isn't close. Some people need to appreciate a bit more what is happening!

That is the one part of the offense that has been missing for years. Highlands has always had strong kickers. It’s nice to finally see kickers getting a chance. Great job young man!
