Cost them if they were to meet again in the playoffs.  LC would have home field.

Another tidbit.  The team that won the regular season matchup, has always won the rematch if they met again in the playoffs.  EVERY TIME.

Depends on RPI.

Welp. I guess the sword in the helmet WAS the motivation.

  • Total meltdown from Boyle in the last few minutes of that game. Questionable decision to go for it on 4th and 4 which gave Lex Cath good field position. The defense couldn't stop the big play and gave

Big Win Knights!   Congrats!

Boyle had 55 plays for 345 yards while Catholic had 50 plays for 337 yards.  Catholic passed for 295 yards in the game.

I told those around me that Catholic probably had less than 50 yards rushing. So I was right about one thing.

The QB for Catholic was tough. He took some major hits tonight and kept getting back up. He also made play after play. Hats off to him.

Boyle County will bounce back even better from this. I have no doubt.

Pretty sure that's not necessarily true.  I'm not sure that they've revised anything regarding RPI matchups once they went back to cross-district bracketing, but previously there was nothing at all about head to head determining site.  The two teams are all but certain not to meet in the first two rounds, and if they meet later, whoever has higher RPI will host.

It is true.  The oddity is 2013.  Boyle won the regular season game in Boyle County.  But the Rebels were upset the game before the rematch by Mercer County.  LexCath went on to defeat to Mercer for the Region Championship and lost to Highlands in the semi finals the next week.

Congratulations Lex Cath.  Never gave up and continued to play hard football.

Looks like we will go on the road round 3 of the playoffs.

Not necessarily. If Boyle and LC run the sheet the rest of the way I can see a 1-2 RPI which keeps them both at home until Kroger Field.

Scott High or Boyd will beat Anderson in round 1.  Boyle will travel in round 2 as sister district #1 host #2 (Boyle).   FD will be more bigger now for sure for later rounds.

You’re right. I didn’t even think about the second round. Boyle could go, home, away, home, home, Kroger field.

I think you’re forgetting Corbin. Corbin moved to #1 RPI as of this morning.

I haven’t forgotten them. Just saying what’s possible.

I am going to agree with Redhound1, I think Corbin finishes the season #1 in RPI and the only team with any chance at all to change that is Campbell County, Corbin's opponent in their final game of the year.

I hope the RPI stays right where it is.  3rd round would have Boyle at Lex Cath. as of todays ranking if both take care of business in the first two rounds.

I don't think Campbell has a chance in that game so the Redhounds win out.

That’s long before the RPI. The RPI is what could change things. Right now, Boyle County is behind LexCath but if LexCath were to lose to someone, anyone, there’s a chance Boyle County could move back in front of them. If not a district opponent it wouldn’t mean anything for seeding those first two rounds, but it WOULD matter for rounds 3 and 4 if they ended up matching up. The higher RPI hosts regardless of a head to head matchup or district seeding, unless they’ve put a revision somewhere that I haven’t seen. It just hasn’t been a thing previously in the RPI years because you didn’t have the possibility of multiple teams from same district being still in play beyond round 2.
