Yes and no. Tennessee did play great and played physical. I mean though I believe this is the lowest minutes he played all year, only 24 minutes because of foul issues. When he usually plays literally almost the whole game. Which a couple of fouls were questionable, but that’s part of the game it happens. Yet even with not playing as much as usual he still had a double double, and only a couple points and rebounds away from his season averages. So if not for foul trouble, he most likely gets right to his season averages if not more. 
 

On top of that this was the first time all year he has played back to back games. So for a big guy that legit goes as hard as he does running up and down the court, it may have some effect. Which this is the one and only time he will play games back to back now this year. So I’m not worried about him no matter who it is against. The shooting today was a concern though for this team.

Cal even said they are using the tournament for better seeding. So he definitely was trying to win it, cause he even knew a win today could get them a one seed most likely. 

You’re not going to win many games shooting the ball like that.

Hopefully it’s out of their system. 

Someone on ESPN today referred to the SEC Tourney as the Kentucky Invitational.   Seems like every time someone makes that reference, they lose.

It wasn't that bad but it was pretty darn ugly.

My concern with UK is that we peaked somewhere in mid-February.  I felt like we were a legit Final Four contender, even after the Auburn loss.  But I can't remember the last game where I thought, "The Cats looked really good today."

Maybe I just love Tshiebwe too much but I think they go on too long of drought with the ball not in his hands in the post, unless scoring in transition. 

Doesn't mean he has to attack but good things happen when he gets the ball there. He either scores, draws fouls, or teams collapse and we get better looks for others.

Can you or anyone clarify for me, does Calipari have more SEC tournament championships than any other school, other than Alabama?

I thought I heard Jimmy Dukes say that 2-3 times last night but that seems crazy for someone who doesn't care about it.

Obviously they shot bad, missing some wide open looks. Hard to get Ws against very quality opponents when you have stretches of going 1 for 14.

Gotta find a way to get Grady going. He doesn't have to be a hero but we need at least 2 threes to fall for him a game.

Also, Wheeler can drive me nuts every once in a while, but I will go to battle with him.

Last I think I will say tonight. I'm not sure there are dominant teams this year. I mean, Duke got beat by VTech by 15 today after getting smoked by UNC last week in Cameron. Baylor lost. Gonzaga got beat by St Marys recently. Kentucky popped Kansas in Lawrence. Auburn blew it this week. Arkansas was the hottest team in college bball recently and got beat by a decent margin.

Who knows how this plays out and honestly this weekend doesn't matter for most contenders. I'm just glad UK is back in the convo after how rough last year was and hopefully they can make a solid run to something special.

Vanderbilt was more physical than Tennessee. I am not one to complain about refs but did Oscar have one legit foul in the game?  I've been watching tournament games for 3 days now. I have seen 100 plays with more contact than the fouls they called on Oscar today. That last foul was a complete flop. The foul before was a nice blocked shot. 

On Grady, he needs to set up a couple steps behind the 3 point line. Get off the line. Create more space. Slide two steps left or right on the pump fakes instead of one step. Take the ball to the paint.
