Personally because they are one of my favorite teams I would say Bengals...but after winning the Super Bowl and then having a season like the Steelers did, they got my vote.

After Ben's brush with death, Randle El and Bettis moving on, and Holmes getting arrested before he ever suits up, I think that you could predict a Steeler off year.

Up until week 4 a lot of people seriously called the Bengals the AFC favorite... biggest disappointment in my book...

Who and why?

My vote goes to the Steelers. Defending champs don't sniff the playoffs. Plenty of reasons to choose someone else, though.

Didn't they end up one game out of the playoff race?

Only the 2nd team to win the SB and miss the playoffs the next year, Tampa is the other. Has to be the Steelers!

Falcons, then the bengals...both were hit with injuries and both struggled to have a winning season.

From a national standpoint, It's the Panthers and Dolphins -- two teams many picked to be in the Super Bowl.

From a BGP standpoint, it's the Bengals, who many people picked to go 11-5 or 10-6 this year. And for some reason, many are picking them to go 10-6 or 11-5 again next year.

Probably should have added Carolina to the list; lots of folks were touting them as potential conference champs at the beginning of the year.

I was going to basically say the same thing, so as a Dolphins fan, it has been a very disappointing year & now the Dolphins have to go looking for a new head coach to boot!

Why is that so crazy? Solid core and an easier schedule next year. I'm going to be surprised if they don't win double digit games next season.

Carolina Panthers, hands down, IMO.

The Seahawks won the worst division in football with a 9-7 record... They would've had to try to NOT make the playoffs.

The Seahawks were a dsappointment, but think of their injuries, Hasselback, Alexander. Tough to win games without the league MVP from a year ago, and your All Pro Quarterback, JMO though!

Carolina as the biggest flop, I said from the beginging of the year the Bengals would struggle because of their schedule, they finished the year with about the record I thought they would.

Interesting (to me, at least) that 54 have voted on the "Disappointments poll" and 45 have voted on the "Pleasant Surprises poll" so far. Do you think that's just the nature of the sports fan?
