Both offenses were vanilla; but the defenses came to play.  I reviewed the fg and yes the left guard was blown up.  However late in the snap count handcuffed the attempt.  I agree with others take penalty and reset kick.  Why was there confusion?  Same team all year, I think?

#6 King, # 18 Surrey, #64 LaFrange and #69 Kissee were a group of senior defensive players that left it all on the field for their final home game.  I expect a rematch is coming.  Many on here sold the Birds short and thought this would be lopsided, guess again.

I was impressed by LaFrange tonight.

You may be right. However, so many people completely misunderstand exactly how good someone must be to truly be a D1 talent. A player can be a great high school player and still not be close to a D1 p

He and Noon seemed like the most talented two players for Highlands.

Noon had a nice game, I agree.  LaFrange is a man.

I saw no confusion in the players from tackle to tackle where the error occurred. Those linemen were lined up and ready to go for 15 seconds or more before the kick. The left guard is set, reaches out and touches the center to let him know ok to snap the ball. The confusion about whether there were enough players on the field did not involve the players where the CCH player broke through the line and blocked the kick. And the entire team was set and ready when the ball was snapped.

What kind of range does the kicker have?

He could have made it 5 yards further back.

The line was set well before the kick. Here is the link:

Go to 2:15 and you can watch the whole last play. IMO the line just lined up wrong and left an easy gap for Wilson right to the kicker.

I don't want to point fingers. Just saying what happened. However, I look at the 3rd down play and the kick and say there are a number of people that can say they made mistakes.

I did not say they were not set, field goal was rushed because play clock was expiring.  Take penalty and let things settle a bit and knock it through.

And I am saying they did not look rushed to me. They were set plenty of time before the snap. I would say there was an error in the way they lined up and the execution.

I think I heard Benke withdrew from the school.

He did. At Campbell County now.

Was it just me or did it look the Highlands player who recovered the fumble was on his knees at the 1 yard line and jumped into the end zone for the touchdown?

Yup down on the 1yard line.

CCH has got to go back to Holtz at QB. I’ll take the bubble screens I like to complain about over what I saw tonight any day of the week. With a passing game CCH is a much better team….. just awful offense tonight. Both teams deserved the L tonight.

Well take it from the person that was there “live”, it was rushed.  Kicker was anxious because he saw the play clock winding down to zero.  Taking the penalty would have allowed them to take a breath and get their composure so that everyone did their assignment.

Someone explain this one to me please.  Highlands lines up to punt, kid punts the ball.  Right before the punt there is a flag on the play.  Ball goes out of bounds.  Call is Highlands for illegal procedure.  CovCath gets ball after declining the penalty.  Referee then says penalty is added to the end of the run.  Am I missing something?

Also curious about the offsides call that allowed for the 2 point conversion.  Anyone at that end know if it was a good call or not?  The official that made the call was the white hat the night of the Dixie game.

It was a good call. The kid came across, nose guard I believe, then the CCH snapper moved.  I was sitting near the 30 on that side of the field.

I'm just so happy for the Eviston family.  Eddie showed these boys real leadership by coaching tonight. Contrary to belief the team was extra motivated, but they just did not play good football. 8 and a row over the Birds is all I need to see and hear.
