I have to agree about the CCH QB situation. When Eviston would not throw the ball despite being down 3 TD's at the start of the 4th quarter, that says a lot right there. It will be interesting to see what Eviston does at QB the rest of the way.

I agree 100%. I wonder if tonight is enough to give Pitzer a look. Who knows if he’s ready to play.

The other issue is special teams. CCH is simply bad in that department.  Every game we give up a big play. The onside kick disaster in the Lex Cath game killed us there. Dixie had kickoff return for TD.  The kickoff return to the 10 yard line in this game after we just scored with like a minute left in the half. Geez people. Not to mention our kicking game is non existent and hurts us in every game this year. 

The whole night I had to listen to Thom Brenneman talk about the size disparity and how much bigger CCH was over BW but yet we still got pushed around. Still couldn’t stop Cam. It’s just frustrating to see I guess. I  can only imagine how frustrated Eviston is right now by not having a offense that can score consistently. 
 

Sounds like it’s going to be a barn burner in Ft Thomas in a few weeks…

I couldn’t believe Eddie just sort of gave up at the end. You have to at least try to score quickly right?

Ya’ll are so blinded by the Hergott factor. And rightfully so to a degree. But give credit where credit is due. The Beechwood lines. The O-line is decimating propel. It’s not just Hergott , it’s Courtney, O’Shea, Berger, everyone be fitting. And you know why Hergot ran the ball tonight?  Cuz he didn’t have to throw it. 
 

on defense, just as dominate. Go back and look at the tape. Only TD’s this season against BW are when Slusher is off field and the rotation is smaller. But it’s a great rotation. Campbell, Jackson, O’Shea, Gibbs, Vanderpool, Sheppard, and oh yeah, when someone needs a break, bring in the big fella Slusher to take the double teams and create 1 on 1s. 
 

Give credit where credit is due folks. Is Hergott a difference maker?  Absolutely. But just icing on the cake to an already great team and group of kids. This dialogue is getting old and not fair for all the other studs on this team.

Pregame, but not at Kroger.

The post above brings up a good point. I don't know if it was part of the game plan or Coach Rash made the adjustment at halftime, but bringing in Slusher and O'Shea at defensive tackle to stop the CCH running game was a very nice move by Coach Rash. I lean toward this being the game plan coming in - save Slusher and O'Shea for the second half. Beechwood has that much depth this year all across the field. 

Didn’t see this game but the earlier CCH games.  Last year even with Jacob they ran a ton of QB draws, bubble screen and jet sweep. I told others it looks the same as last year. Looked like no trust in QB to throw long.  Not a lot of imagination or variety.   There is no Michael so they need to change to personnel they have. The kicking game is killing them too. Isn’t there a soccer player willing  and allowed to just swing away at least.

Nobody did stop him! Jonathan Jackson was a stud from what I heard! As in stopping Cam  He he said earlier “you have to cut off the snakes head”

I saw it live and I saw the tape. There were several drives kept alive by BW because of some obvious holds by the BW OLine that were not called right in front of the White Hat.  Really don’t understand what they are looking for to call holding at this point but it is what it is. If you watch the game unbiased you will see many holds not called where Hergot gained big yards. 

that being said CCH was not potent on offense and even without the 5th year senior playing they still lose. Berger was great and deserves a lot of credit. 
BW line was big and made good plays but they were helped with some crucial non calls. 

I hate the 5th year rule. I somewhat understand if a kid struggled academically and had to not play games because of Covid so he didn’t get exposure but to be real this kid not only was a state champion that played a full schedule but he also was named Mr. KY for the state of KY. 
 

IMO that’s a little lame to repeat and every victory this year gets an Asterisk.

 Beechwood played a great game! Offense, Defense, and Special teams! Beechwood was far more Superior! Give credit where it’s due! Beechwood players and Coaches executed to perfection! The only people complaining and giving excuses are CCH fans and a Mayfield person. Beechwood wins State this year! Nothing better than beating the Blue Boys and getting over the hump with the Cardinals! I’ve watched Beechwood play since the late 80’s and they are damn good! Their Defense swarms to the ball and hits hard! Love seeing people lose and give excuses! This ain’t fair and neither is this. Boo Hoo! Go home to yo Mama! Offense sells tickets, Defense wins Championships! Go Tigers!!!
