With all due respect, and I respect your opinion a lot, you didn't watch closely enough tonight. I two running backs gaining solid yardage being created by a very good offensive line. I saw mulitple receivers getting open and making catches. Play of the game was the kickoff return by Parker Mason just before halftime - another playmaker for the Tigers. I saw a defense that gave up no big plays. Eviston tried to get wide and spread the defense with his speed but the Tigers defense is too good to let that happen. You are selling Covington Catholic short and not giving them respect. They have speed and they have skilled players. Beechwood shut them down.         

Oh, I don't pay much attention to Mr.Bucklen. He really knows very little about Beechwood football. When you don't go to any games, how could you.

Well, I'm just saying the offense is run through Hergot and if you beat him , you most likely beat Beechwood. And what I'm really saying if you come down here to play, I think the streak endures. I wasn't real confident that Mayfield could beat Beechwood but after seeing them play, it's grown.

The Tigers did not punt the ball tonight. When is the last time a team never had to punt the ball against Cov Cath's defense? Hergott had a couple big runs tonight, and he is Mr. Football ... but, does anyone else think Beechwood wins this game with someone else at QB? They only needed to score two TD's to win this one, right? Could Beechwood's offense score two TD's without Hergott at QB? 

The point I am getting to is Beechwood just looked like the better team all the way around. 

Hergott is the straw that stirs the drink.

I think your getting a little carried away. Cam was the entire offense in the first half. I think there were 2 rushes not by him. Beechwood played really well, but without Cam it’s a different game. QB is the most important position by a mile in HS, and CCH and beechwood were miles apart in that category.

I think Berger carried the ball more than a couple times in the first half. And it definitely is a different game without Hergott. But I didn't see any area of the game where CCH was better than Beechwood tonight.

I have to agree about the CCH QB situation. When Eviston would not throw the ball despite being down 3 TD's at the start of the 4th quarter, that says a lot right there. It will be interesting to see what Eviston does at QB the rest of the way.

Beechwood was the better team. They have some nice players, but Hergott was the clear difference in the game. Bigger, faster, stronger. 

I don’t think this is on the coaches. When one player significantly the best player on the field, especially at QB, you’re almost certainly going to win. We are relatively basic on offense, but these are mostly college concepts. We also want to water down the playbook since we do play guys both ways and can’t throw too much at them from both sides of the ball. 

Offensively, we just don’t have much margin for error. If we get behind the sticks on first down, we struggle since we aren’t effective throwing the ball. We got some movement in the run game and had some success, but we’re not able to generate many explosive plays. 

Good for BW, they have a very nice team. We better focus back up since Cooper won’t be a pushover next week.

What did I say that’s inaccurate? I’m saying that Cam is really good and has a huge impact on the game given the critical impact a hs Qb has on a game. 
 

I obviously don’t like the rule but it’s allowed so is what it is.
