Statement from the Lexington Police Department:

"On Saturday, March 6, 2021, there was a private party being thrown at a residence. During the party, three individuals entered the residence uninvited and were asked to leave. The individuals became upset and threatened they would return. 

"A short time later, the three individuals returned with additional subjects. THe group forced their way into the residence. One suspect was observed pointing a firearm at a victim. As a result of the investigation, the six suspects listed have been charged with Burglary 1st Degree. Mr. Devito Tisdale has also ben charged with Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree based on being identified as the suspect pointing a handgun at one of the victims."

I have friends who coach at all different levels of the college game in both football and basketball. The majority of them will avoid recruiting kids if they have any character or off the field issues. 

Coaches who actually care about the culture within their program take a lot of precautions during the recruiting process to avoid potential incidents like this. 

Anyone with a change of opinion now that the other side of the story is out?   Nevermind that this happened in March and we find out about it August.  

Also interesting that the “victims” in this situation had their fraternity put on probation after the school investigated the incident.   The football players were allowed to return to football activities in June.   
 

Everyone knew about it months ago.  Why are charges being brought up now?  Hmmmmmmmmmmmm…………….

What were the honor code charges?  That could be anything.  Was he charged with anything legally or just booted from the Navy because he didn’t make his bed properly too many times.  
 

Vito is innocent until proven guilty, isn’t he?
 

Nacarius made some bad decisions.  He’s doing damn good in his second chance at life.  He served his time for his mistakes.  
 

I say all this to say that every high school in the nation has students who go on to do dumb stuff.  These three just happened to have been stars at the high school level.  Some high school stars get caught.  Others don’t.

Or they do get caught, and their parents have enough money to get them out of it. A basketball player from a prominent school in NKY comes to mind.

If the suspect/s are not in custody the police can file charges depending on the severity of the crime, up to 6 months or infinity (for something like murder).

My guess is they try to devise a plan for Tisdale not to take the fall, or he takes the fall and the others go free.

It’ll be interesting because from what I am reading the football players say they had no gun.

I was thinking the same thing. I would really have to think that colleges start strongly vetting a player or just not recruiting much from Bowling Green.  I'm sure many will say the issues are happening in college but there is definitely a trend coming out of that high school.

Vito Tisdale is a sophomore in college.  There are conflicting reports on if there was a gun there or not according to @PurplePride92 above.

Jamale Carothers is a senior in college.  I do not have any inside info into the "honor code" violation.

Nacarius Fant wasn't at WKU when he was arrested on drug charges.

I point this out for a couple reasons:

1.  Does Coach Wallace and Coach Spader need to follow these guys around and make sure they keep their noses clean?  That's unrealistic.

Should these guys have not put themselves in poor situation and made poor choices?  Absolutely.  But before you go casting stones, take a look in the mirror to see if you every made mistakes or put yourself in a poor situation at this age.

The truth will come out on Vito and if he's guilty he should pay the penalty, but hold BGHS accountable for that?  Come on man...

Is it a black eye for BGHS, yes.  But to vet them because of this.  No.  What about Jordan and Justis Dingle.  What about Jordan Meredith?  What about Terry Taylor?  And many others I can mention.

2.  These players didn't exhibit this type negative behavior at Bowling Green.  If they did, let me know about it.  At some point, you are accountable for your actions as an adult.  Vito, Jamale and Nacarius are accountable for their actions.

Innocent until proven guilty.

And I looked up honor code offenses, FWIW. The honor code at the Naval Academy is a set of formalized codes written to require midshipmen to honor integrity by refusing to "lie, cheat, or steal." So Carothers seemingly would have had to have either lied, cheated, or stolen to get dismissed for violation of the honor code. It's not an issue of him not making his hospital corners well enough on his bed in the morning.

It was insinuated.  It is a really bad look.

Anyone who knows anything about Jamale Carothers would say he is a person of integrity and the referenced offenses go against anything they know about him.

I think Coach Wallace referred to him as one of his favorites, which he never says that.  Like I said, I don't know anything about the honor code violation and likely won't ever know what really happened there, but it is against everything I ever knew of him during his time at BGHS.

If you are referring to a recent case, the accuser and the accused had their day in court.  Yes there were thousands of dollars in legal fees but to insinuate that the end result was "bought" is misinformed at best and ignorant at worst.

Tisdale had 16 D1 offers including Louisville, LSU, Georgia, Miami FL, et al.

Stoops apparently wasn't the only coach visiting him and recruiting him. I am not looking to defend Stoops. I am putting the blame for this where I think it belongs - on the individuals who made the bad decisions to be involved.

I didn't insinuate anything was bought. It's a very simple idea that some people have the money to contest things in court and others don't.

Sarcasm on my part.  Just pointing out that a violation of the honor code could be something trivial that has no bearing on character or BGHS which is being insinuated throughout this thread.
