Water. I can't stand either.

After a 10 hour training day in the heat in 2013, my wife made me drink some Coke as I was not feeling good at all. I took in about 6 ounces, and honestly my stomach felt much better after. They actually serve flat Coke out on Ironman race courses. Beyond that, I have not had a soft drink / pop in about 12 years.

But to answer the question, Coke and it is not close.

If I have an upset stomach I agree some Coke is great medicine.

Ginger Ale or, what I have discovered the last three years, sparkling water.

Over recent years I have converted to drinking unsweetened iced tea. I have one soda a day at dinner and it is diet pepsi.  The amount of fizz in Coke bugs me, especially when pouring it over ice. However, I recently was at an event and the only diet drink available was Coke Zero. I really liked it.

I would never drink Coke if I were thirsty, if that makes sense. It would always be water. I only drink Coke when I'm eating, or mixing an adult beverage.

I get it.  Mountain Dew or Mellow Yellow are the only sodas that would come close to quenching my thirst.  Only water & unsweet iced tea can do that.

This I can really agree with.  I like Pepsi straight, but I would never mix it with an adult beverage.
