December 16, 200619 yr Bottom line...Can't win shooting 27%, and only making two field goals in the last 10:40... It's just ridiculous to miss that many open shots...Officiating was poor at best BOTH ways....Still dont think either team is very good at all.... Hey UKMustang...Still think Padgett is soft? I think he is extremely soft!!! He had Woo on him most of the entire game and I remember him only facing the basket once. For as big as his body is, he does not use it very well.
December 16, 200619 yr Those fouls called on Morris looked like they should not have been called IMO. At least two of them anyway. What is the rule on touching while guarding?
December 16, 200619 yr Good solid road win for the Cats today. Some thoughts: -Every game this UK team plays they seem to improve, albeit slightly, in some area. Today it was ball control. (I know they still had some TOs but it was much better today IMO.) -I absolutely love Michael Porter. He's making all those so called UK fans who were complaining about his signing look foolish. -Sheray Thomas and Woo were huge today. Neither played great, but both came up with some huge plays when needed. -This team is starting to get there....They are not there yet by any means, but they are getting there. -UofL is better than most are giving them credit for. They have had a huge rash of injuries and are just starting to get healthy. I don't see them as much of a NCAA tourny team, but they are definitely going to the NIT. They couldn't buy a bucket today. UK's D deserves some credit for it, but they missed a lot of easy looks. -Derrick Charcter is pitiful right now. He could have been fouled out the first 5 trips down the floor if they refs wouldn't have been so awful on both ends. :thumb: Great post.
December 16, 200619 yr What about the one where Orbzut cutoff Padget on the baseline, there was some contact, and Padget steped out of bounds. THe official did not call a foul on Orbzut, but called a force out so Louisville did not turn the ball over? Never seen that before.

I thought the call was a foul or ball of a player, but if that was the actual call, I've never seen in before.
December 16, 200619 yr I was there, and both teams were absolutely disgusting today...Meeks and Padgett looked good, other than that, neither team had an identity, organization, or basketball flow whatsoever.... A couple of things: This was one of the worst officiated games that I have ever seen, both sides got horrible (or good) calls. U of L has the wrong people taking it's shots, Rick Pitino has to work on the intangibles, and quit saying "these guys are young they don't understand enough" Louisville is a football school.

I agree. Win or Lose I was gonna say the officiating was flat terrible. Like you said, it didnt help either team it was bad both ways.
December 16, 200619 yr He played quite well today, Pitino definitely didn't utilize him the right way, but to answer your question, yes. He played well today, but one game doesn't make up for the entire body of work. If he continues to play the way he did today, then my opinion will change, but as for now I'm still skeptical. As long as you acknowledge he played very well today, Im satisfied...:thumb:
December 16, 200619 yr Nor have I. I thought the call was a foul or ball of a player, but if that was the actual call, I've never seen in before. I watched it again on DVR and it looked like Verne and Billy got it wrong the signal that Jimmy Burr made was that the ball was dribbled off Woo's foot, which it was not, it was dribbled off Padgett's foot. Bottom line was it was a bad call.

December 16, 200619 yr Padgett played well today, everytime a UK fan calls him Mr. Softee from now on, I'll remind them that he went for a double double on them coming off double knee surgery. Until the end, Louisville had great play around the basket, which is encouraging to me. Our guard play will come around.

As a UK fan I thought he Looked rather strong and played real well inside. They just didn't get him the ball the way they should have! The guy was knocking down the F.T.s also!
December 16, 200619 yr I didn't get to see the game due to work but appearently my Cards can't shoot the ball. This doesn't shock me, nor does it bode well for our team, bad shooting teams don't do well. Hopefully this is the lowpoint of the season, there is time to pull ourselves up in conference play and make a run for the tournament, however looking like they do, I think this is less likely than not.
December 16, 200619 yr The guy was knocking down the F.T.s also! That's the part I liked most...I believe he made all of his free throws...
