December 17, 200619 yr Just watched the game again...I dont think it was really UK's defense that kept UL's field goal percentage down, Louisville just missed WAY, WAYYY too many WIDE open looks...

December 17, 200619 yr I can't believe Ricky P sits back and allows Williams to chuck it up from 19'9", the guy is 6 for 50, maybe he should stick to mid range jumpers. I guess Perry's outbreak in last year's tourny was a fluke, the guy has been more than poor offensively, he actually airballed a two footer today. I love when the youngsters get into the action, they are way ahead of the upperclassment when it comes down to IQ.
December 17, 200619 yr The yahoo.com game summary included this.......... While hard fought, the game showcased just how far one of the nation's high-profile rivalries has fallen in recent years. There were poor shots, missed layups, turnovers and no sense of rhythm. The teams combined for 25 turnovers, 42 fouls and 84 missed shots. http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaab/recap;_ylt=AhrQ1ZsSKMFnN9vZ1YswqjrevbYF?gid=200612160314&prov=ap

If he would get more aggressive under the basket he might at least get to the foul line!

I think its obvious that while UK did play good defense, no denying that, UL missed way too many open shots. And Im not so sure a game plan might have been for them to make UL beat them from outside somewhat.

I don't know what was going on, but I just couldn't believe how really wide open they were on SO many occasions and couldnt knock down shots.
December 17, 200619 yr I don't know what was going on, but I just couldn't believe how really wide open they were on SO many occasions and couldnt knock down shots. The cats had alot of wide open looks and couldn't hit except for Meeks! Crawford was terrible from outside! Not if but when these two teams start shooting better from outside Lookout! Both these teams have good shooters I think that its just a shooting slump and good shooters find away to shoot out of it!
December 17, 200619 yr I'm telling you, that could've been two NAIA teams out there...that was not high caliber basketball.
December 17, 200619 yr Even Jasper?? Yes I thought he made some key plays. He had 6 points, all on dunks, played solid D, and rebounded well when he was in.
December 17, 200619 yr I'm telling you, that could've been two NAIA teams out there...that was not high caliber basketball. You know if the shots had been falling from outside for both teams they would have looked like two top ten teams! Division 1.
December 17, 200619 yr The most encouraging thing to me is that UK won with 0 contribution from its best player and all the freshman getting solid PT.

He is way too good of a defensive coach. Just may have been the in the game plan to stop the ball/drives and keep it away from the inside and their outside shooting wasn't good enough to hurt us (U.K.). Probably picked up something from film to that effect. JMO and I am not sure how good or bad U.L. has shot from the outside this season.
