Calpreps right now has it BG 20 - CovCath 14 on a neutral field as I understand it.  So that is a very close game.

To me, for Covington Catholic QB Caleb Jacob needs to be as good as he was last year.  He was 16 for 24 for 240 yards, 3 TDs and 1 INT.  Pretty darn good!  From the talk on the board, it would appear that CovCath also has some injuries they are dealing with.  How are they progressing based on @bluecolonels95 post on page 2 I think?

For the Purples, they gained only 58 yards on the ground last year and that obviously didn't get it done.  They are averaging 150 yards a game.  Can the Purples gain their average or more on Friday night?  QB Conner Cooper is playing well, if the passing game doesn't prove fruitful, he is blessed with terrific running abilty to support the BG offensive attack.

How many yards to you see BG rushing for on Friday?

Do we know for sure what the injury "report" is for CC?

As far as I know BG is pretty healthy.

It's been one of those years for injuries in Park Hills. Two starters are done for the year. Multiple contributors have been in and out of the lineup. But it is football, next man up and all that. Hopefully CovCath has everybody back, but if they don't, Bowling Green isn't going to take it easy on the Colonels.

Yeah BG lost one of it's best players for the year in the second game of the season. But the team that has been playing the last several weeks I believe is pretty much healthy.

I know BG was down an O-Line starter, Littlefield, last week. Shoulder injury. Not sure if he’ll be back or not this week. Unfortunately, he’s battled injures all year. Not certain how many games he’s actually gotten in. He’s definitely needed! His backup came in and handled business.. so like you guys are saying, next man up!

I just remember a few weeks back that someone mentioned CCH had 5 starters out on defense when they played Lexington Catholic. I’m just a casual fan and try to keep up with my alma-mater but I don’t have inside info into the program and injury report.  That’s why I was wondering. I just hope we got them starters back on defense. 

Khsaa needs to sit up streaming through a service that everyone can use each week. Then use profit sharing for the streaming just like they do with the in person sales. I’m not blaming the schools I’m blaming the khsaa’s lack of oversight and planning.

I wish KHSAA would regulate a few things with regard to video broadcast. But it's probably too big a task for them to completely undertake the entire operation. I like local schools having control vs the KHSAA though. 

Plus I don't know if demand is that big. Most schools don't charge anything. That may change going forward if schools see some $$$. But if a local radio is allowed to do a radio cast of the game, they should be given the option to do a video feed as well even if a reasonable fee needs to be charged.

Correct, but the only reason they or anyone does something like this is because there's a market for it.  

 

As for the game itself, I've got Bowling Green by a touchdown.  Maybe 28-21.

I hope he gets to play, he had some knee issues during the lacrosse season too.  He’s as tough as nails and unless his arm isn’t working, he’ll play through it.  As you said though, it’s next man up and I know Coach Williams will prepare them.  They’ve done an outstanding job this season.

I think CCH run to the state finals will stop here. I can’t see them getting by BG. We have played some good teams this year but not any great teams. We struggled against the good teams ( Beechwood, Lexington Catholic, Dixie). Our passing game has been anemic all year, almost frustrating at times. Definitely need our passing game to be a factor in this game as I think BG will eventually stop the run. We need a balanced attack. We can’t rely on Caleb running the ball 75% of plays. Bowling Green has played the better competition this year and it will show in this game. I say BG wins 24-7.
