Yeah man. It's terrible. That's why I told that person defending it his post was just nonsense and tried to move on. It's inexcusable. And there's much more that could be said, but it is what it is. 

What they are doing is indefensible. But it's not going to change and CC has lost a lot of my respect for that. 

Now just got to focus on the game itself which is a lot more fun.

On the $15, I know a lot of schools are charging for the streaming to help make up for lost gate revenue. Is the $15 charge unusual? What are other schools charging?

Beechwood also charges $15/broadcast, so I guess they are losing a ton of respect as well.

I don't get the angst. If two people watch the game, it works out to $7.50/person. A ticket right now is $10, so they are saving money on what a ticket currently costs.

Also, the audio broadcast is free. Nobody is forcing anyone to buy the video broadcast.

I can get an NFHS membership for a month for $9.99. That's access to hundreds of schools across the country, numerous sports. Why would I ever pay $15 for ONE game, especially as a casual observer?

The issue isn't that they are charging, I don't think anybody has an issue with that. $15 is twice what it should cost. They are pricing out people that would buy the feed, IMO.

I haven't seen anyone charging. Not to say it's not happening but it's definitely in the way minority.

My bigger issue is not letting a local station do a video broadcast of the game. Every single one of BGs opponents this year has let the local broadcast do video. Trinity, which is a private catholic school, had no issue with it. St. X, which is a private catholic school had no issue with it.  They didn't even charge the local radio a fee. 

And before we go down that road I'm catholic, my mom taught at a Catholic school. I know how the entire system works 

I thought at the very least if you want to be greedy about it, charge the local radio station a reasonable fee to do a video broadcast. But nope!

So the video feed is more than an in-person ticket?  That's laughable too.

I haven't paid for any streaming and had no idea what people charge. That's why I asked. Is $15 the going rate for most schools?

Also, to clarify, my original post above on this topic was not about the streaming charge. My complaint was with a private school parent complaining about money when they made the choice for their child to attend private school.

I said it before and say it again. When has $15 become a lot of money? Usually when I go to the game I go with my wife so usually $7 a ticket during regular season so why is everyone crying about $15. Hell, 2 hours of entertainment for $15, I will pay that all day long. Usually when the wife and I go out somewhere we always spend $50-100 easily so $15 is a bargain for a Friday evening. Stop crying people.

Just because the CovCath community thinks "when did $15 become a lot of money" doesn't mean that's the way of the world. This reeks of privilege.

Pretty sure the GCL schools charge the $15/broadcast.

Not sure what is drawing your complaint? No doubt, revenues are down at both private and public schools this year. Not everyone sending their kids to private schools are flush with money.

Well it's more of a principle thing. Plus when it's been free all year and then it goes from free to $15 that's a big jump.

Also the bigger issue is excluding the local video broadcast. That's the problem.

If there's no tickets to the public, there should a cheaper stream. There are those who cannot afford 15 dollars for one game. I predict that there will be a facebook livestream of some sort to combat that.
