I am wondering just how rare I am on this topic. I have never owned or purchased a jersey of a team with a players name and number on it. I have bought T-shirts of my favorite teams but never a player jersey. It actually feels odd to me to be wearing a shirt with someone else's name and number on it.

 

Does anyone else feel the same? If you have purchased a favorite player jersey, why?

I have never purchased one myself but had several that my parents and others would buy as gifts when I was a kid. That said I will never buy one for my adult self.

I don’t think it’s odd at all. I have a Troy Polamalu jersey and will likely have others before all is said and done.

I had a Jack Youngblood Rams jersey when I was a kid...but I've never bought myself one.

I bought a Jr. Mariners jersey for my son when he was younger.

I own several, have never worn one.

I had a TJ Houzmazahdah Jersey in my post college drinking days. Would probably not buy one now. They are really expensive.

I have a Mike Schmidt Phillies jersey and a John LeClair Flyers Jersey. Ive had several Eagles jerseys but whenever I got one the player got hurt or left the team. That being said I haven’t bought a jersey in over 15 years, and really have no plans on buying another.

I think I have 2 baseball, 4 football, and 4 hockey that I wear.

 

I have 11 that are signed and are collectables.

When I had season tickets I purchased custom made Nate Webster #52. I can't wearcit any longer.

As a high schooler and college student, I had a couple of Jamal Mashburn jerseys and a Tim Couch college and pro jersey.

I owned several when I had my Bengal season tickets, but probably won't buy any going forward.

I always wear a Bengals jersey to the home games. I have a tendency to favor defensive players (just to be different). However, if that player leaves the Bengals, I get rid of the jersey and buy a new one. I'm on 57 Pratt now.

Have never owned a jersey. Went back and forth on a KAT Timberwolves jersey, but glad I didn't make the investment as he is starting to get on my nerves.

I didn't buy it myself, got it for Christmas one year and I wear it proudly.
