I took UM to the Rose Bowl last night. I was fine with it then, and I'm fine with it now. If the drastic change in the vote is fine with you, so be it. My only question is why did Florida deserve it today over the minute UM lost to OSU. Seems simple...

 

They beat a bitter in-state rival who is going to a bowl in a very hostile environment. Then they beat the #8 team in the country on a neutral field. Obviously you aren't giving them any credit for those big wins, but other people are...Did it hurt UM being idle while UF was getting those big wins??? Maybe. It sure didn't help them...

I'm not sure what you are wanting people to say. It's a flawed system... that's been understood for awhile now.

 

Lou Holtz said it best. You absolutely can't fault the BCS for putting UF in there. And, you absolutely can't say UM doesn't belong in there.

There are many instances when the top 2 don't play each other. You only have to look at the fine Commonwealth of KY. to see it. Is it fair? No. Life goes on:cool:

Let's follow that "logical" sense. So OSU wins by 3 in Columbus. Logic tells us that homefield is worth at least 3 points in college football(and for sure Vegas tells us that). So on paper they are even. Now with your logic, if UF loses and USC loses, we have two teams that, at a neutral site, are even.

 

I promise you that if OSU were to play Michigan again the spread in Vegas wouldn't be a pick.

If I am not mistaken and according to NBC last night both the computers and the USATODAY coaches poll has Florida ahead of Michigan.

 

Florida is playing because it won a very tough conference and since Michigan had it's chance and did not take advantage of it, it is someone else's chance.

 

If the Michigan game had happened the first weeks of the season, they would have had a better chance.

And nobody other than Big11 homers want to see a rematch.

 

I'm a Big 10 homer and I don't want to see the rematch.

 

I'm not saying I don't think they're 1-2, I just want to see Ohio State kill Florida to shut the SEC people up.

Prior to the Ark game UM had a better position with the pollsters. After seeing UF beat a Top 10 team and win their conference championship, they went with UF. What is so hard to understand about that? It's not really rocket science.

I'm pretty sure that the Big 10/11 has said no about a dozen times, and I'm pretty sure they'll continue to say no. Some things aren't all about money for everyone. Amazing that 2 of the most storied conferences, the Big 10 and Pac 10 don't have a championship game.

 

I agree. Stupid conferences scheduling all those games just to make money. All you need to play is 1 game to know who the best team is. Those other 11 are just for money.

Thank you. I want to see Florida win (did I really type that?!), but no matter what, the issue gets settled. We find out ON THE FIELD whether OSU (and by extension Michigan/Big10) is better than Florida.

The voters had a lot of mixed emotions. Many switched from UM to Florida. On Mike and Mike in the Morning, they indicated one voter put Florida at Number 5. Wow. What was he trying to do. Also Jim Tressel could have put Michigan over the top if he had cast a ballot. My guess is, he didn't want to play UM again, and didn't want to make Mischigan angry, so he didn't vote. Michigan coach was very upset that Tressl didn't stick up for a fellow big ten coach. They were all just doing their thing.

It is VERY clear that UM was ahead of UF in the last poll. What else do I need to say? The Florida win over Arkansas or the USC loss is what changed the vote. Please pick one...

 

Sour grapes GT. Its like what Herbsteit, Mark May, and Lou Holtz were talking about last night. There is good arguments for Michigan and Florida to get in. There is not good arguments as to why either shouldn't be able to get in.

You can shoot down everyone else's views all you want, but Florida won the SEC championship and IMO their resume matched up with Michigan. I feel bad for Michigan, but Florida deserved to be in the game as well.
