December 4, 200619 yr Sour grapes GT. Its like what Herbsteit, Mark May, and Lou Holtz were talking about last night. There is good arguments for Michigan and Florida to get in. There is not good arguments as to why either shouldn't be able to get in. You can shoot down everyone else's views all you want, but Florida won the SEC championship and IMO their resume matched up with Michigan. I feel bad for Michigan, but Florida deserved to be in the game as well. Why? They had their shot and couldn't get it done. In the last few weeks of the season, ...... USC had their shot to get OSU and didn't get it done. Notre Dame had their shot and didn't get it done. Louisville, Rutgers had their shot and didn't get it done. Florida did what they needed to do over the last few weeks of the season to get a shot at OSU. They are the ONLY team to have done that. They deserve where others don't, bottom line.
December 4, 200619 yr If I am not mistaken and according to NBC last night both the computers and the USATODAY coaches poll has Florida ahead of Michigan. Florida is playing because it won a very tough conference and since Michigan had it's chance and did not take advantage of it, it is someone else's chance. If the Michigan game had happened the first weeks of the season, they would have had a better chance. From what I saw, the combined computer score of UM and UF were a dead heat, .940 to .940! IMO, both teams get screwed. It's all USC's fault.

The voters thought Michigan was the #2 team in the nation, but put Florida in as long as they weren't a 2 loss team so that they could avoid the rematch. Basically, the main reason Michigan isn't playing is because they had their shot. If we can agree on that, then most of the issues will be settled.

December 4, 200619 yr Both Florida and Michigan are deserving of the #2 spot. Florida got it. That's it. End of story. There is no point in talking about it. I figured that out when Auburn ran the table and got left out...it's the BCS...somebody almost always ends up feeling slighted. I'm glad Florida got in, because it sets up a great Rose Bowl. I'm more excited about watching the USC/Michigan game than I am the title game. I love it when the Rose Bowl matches up the Pac-10 and Big Ten...especially when it's these two. I still can't believe USC blew it against UCLA...:madman:

Is that why everyone, ESPN, USA today included, is giving ANY reason but that as to why UM dropped. If you really think that UF beating what is most assuredly NOT the #8 team in the country in a sloppy game put them over the top you are much more naive than I could imagine. And I have real estate down by some picturesque "lagoons" in Florida that you might be interested in. It's not like GT or myself is making off the wall, uneducated accusations. Read up a bit, do some homework, heck just watch Herbstreit on SportsCenter, but don't just sit there and be a SEC homer. It's embarassing.
