December 5, 200619 yr Author I do understand GT being upset considering hes a Michigan fan. But I dont understand why everyone is so upset over Florida winning their conference and going 12-1. Michigan didn't win their conference and went 11-1. If Im not mistaken Florida has played just as tough of a schedule, probably a little tougher. You guys can cry about if for months, the fact is Florida got in and its over now. I don't discredit that UF did what they had to do to get in the mix. It wasn't impressive getting there at times, but in the end they had what was needed to make a case. I just don't like the way it went down. It's well know (as I have said several times in the last 24 hours) that I'm all for playing the system in place and letting it shake out when all is said and done. My only problem is well documented, and will not waiver on this one. If UF was closer to UM after the FSU game, I have no beef right now. It's the vast change of direction in the human polls that lead me to believe it was not for the UF win over Arkansas, but for the USC loss. Such is life. I have a new job that gives me a drastic chance for rapid advancement right now, and all is well...

A 10-pt. win over the #8 team in the country is worse than losing to #1??? Now we are spinning that a HUGE win is worse than a close loss??? No way, no how...some smart guy said "winning isn't everyting, it's the ONLY thing..." Way too many people out there wanting to talk about how good their losses are - see the UK basketball threads...Winning = GOOD, Losing = BAD...page 1 of the Sports 101 textbook... By the way, that 2 loss team you are referring to is now a 3 loss team, and is favored over that 1 loss team from the Big 11 that is ranked much higher...
December 5, 200619 yr Does Florida deserve a shot at tO$U? Yes, they without a doubt do. They played the toughest schedule in the land and won the toughest conference in the country. Does Michigan deserve a shot at the NC? Yes, they without a doubt do. It simply comes down to the fact that there were 2 teams deserving of 1 spot. Seeing that one of those(UM) already played and lost to tO$U, it is only logical that you give the other, equally deserving team a shot. Earlier, a poster said if they did a playoff, that everyone knows it would come down to tO$U/Michigan....I disagree 100%, it would be very suprising to see that happen.

Especially because they've already played a great football game this year and the team that should've won...did. When they plaoyed OSU, they were outgained 503 yards to 397, 24 first downs to 17, had no turnovers to OSU's 3, and still had to score a TD and a 2-point conversion with a couple of minutes left in the game just to make it a three point game. Why are so many folks so hot for a rematch? We saw what happened just a couple of weeks ago.

December 5, 200619 yr I wont get started on the BCS.... I didnt read a lot of this thread so if this has already been said forgive me. On Dan Patrick today, he had Theismann on and he made what I thought was a very good point. Of all these teams, every year, there is one common denominator and that is strength of schedule. Florida had the toughest schedule in the nation and lost 1 game and they have the opportunity to play for the national championship. Its hard to argue against that if you ask me.
