Well, we already have 2. We'll probably lose to North Carolina on the road, Florida twice, once in the SEC tourney, and once in the NCAA tourney. That is 7 losses right there. We have to play on the road at Alabama, South Carolina, Vandy, Tennessee, Arkansas, Georgia, and Ole Miss in the conference. There's no way to escape all of those games without at least 2 losses. Tennessee and LSU will be very tough at Rupp. Probably will lose at least one of those 2. That doesn't even include Santa Clara (See UNC last year), UMASS, Indiana, and Louisville. I hate it worse than anything, but I predict another 10-loss season.

The program is now at the ten loss level due to the lack of recruiting by the staff.

Exactly, they were better for now. I've never understood, nothing but negative comments, gloom and doom, which some "fans" constantly portray and dwell on.

 

Its almost if some of you, revel in a UK loss which allows your negative comments, to perpetuate. Constructive criticism, is highly more effective than diatribe of negative, negative, negative.....

 

This started after one game, one game and already the season is a waste, after loosing 2 games in Maui. Some of "glass is half empty" followers, would make excellent weather forecasters, since they both change from day to day

As young as this team is a 10 loss season won't be the end of the world. And as for those who blame it all on recruiting don't forget that Morris, Crawford and Bradley were all highly recruited. They just turned out to be not as good as advertised. I am however, impressed by the quality of this years freshman class. I think the recruiting problem has been addressed and the true measure of this team won't be in number of losses but in how the team progresses over the course of the season and how they perform in postseason play. I think the team will be better for playing in this tounament, and this season is far from over.

O my gosh!!!! The season is over. We might as well forfeit the rest of the games. Who would have ever thought we would lose to the #5 ranked UCLA. Then after we decided to play a great UCLA team very close, we went and lost to a more athletic, more experienced, and therefore more talented team in #11 Memphis. If they even think about playing another game I will be shocked. UK will never win another game..... ever.

I read somewhere that Tubby has averaged 27 wins per season since he has been @ UK....It'd be nice to even get close to that. I guess that's including the tournmanets & all...

I hate to say it and I will probably get grilled... but I think a lot of us saw a 10 loss season coming, before the season started. Tough non conference and tough conference minus maybe the 3rd/4th best team in the SEC = around 10 losses.

I dont think we will be a 10 loss team. I look for us to lose only 1 or 2 more non-conference game. Also, I think we will be able to have a 11-5 conference record. Of course we will just have to wait and see.

While it's admirable that you're so supportive of your team; I'm not seeing the Cats cutting down the nets in the NC game this year.

 

And in defense of the Cats:

 

a) It's still VERY early

b) UCLA and Memphis aren't exactly the Little Sisters of the Poor

c) Maybe the national exposure in the Maui tourney will cause some #4 stud to say "you know - they really need me in Lexington - desperately."

For those whose reaction goes something like this: "At least (fill in the blank - Louisville, Duke, North Carolina, Cincinnati - HAHAHAHA) lost" - I kind of feel sorry for you folks. I guess I'm the type that gets a whole lot more enjoyment out of having "my team" win than having some other team lose. I get the feeling that puts me in a distinct minority, however.

 

Finally, 10-loss seasons aren't the end of the world. They just aren't what UK fans are used to (well, maybe they're getting used to them, but they don't have to like them). Much more important is if enough improvement will be made over the next 4+ months to become a contender - not just a participant - at tourney time.

C'mon...not even a little hint of pleasure when UNC falls to Gonzaga, or Duke loses to Marquette?

 

Sure, it's always nice to have your team win, but when they don't, I rest assured fans on Tobacco Rd. are debating the same things in their heads when they are laying in bed at night.

Maybe they would be as good as advertised if UK played a style that allowed them to shine. Uk's style of play is what is keeping recruits away. Tubby needs to bring our style into the 21st century. Today's players want to go to a place that will get them ready for the NBA. UK is not that place now.:irked:

UK Basketball spoiled every UK fan in the 90's by winning so many flipping games & being so successful in the big tourny. Now SOME UK fan thinks they have what it takes to win 25 games or even come close to winning a national title but it's just not gonna happen any time soon. I myself wish they would but there not.

We are not just spoiled because of the 90's, a lot more

history than that. We want the possiblity of winning the title every year.

Every year since Tubby took over our chances get

smaller and smaller season by season.

If UK does not win the title it is a bad year.

Those are the expectations or hopes every year.

It is not like UK fans just now became this fanatical.

5 games into the season and we are already reading negative comments on this UK team :irked: :confused: . We lost 2 games to a couple of pretty good b.b. teams with a young team of our own. This team is going to get nothing but better. If some are going to jump off the UK bandwagon already (or at all) then don't be jumping back on when things are going good.
