Possible (and probable) losses look to be North Carolina, Florida twice, Tennessee twice, LSU, Alabama, SEC tourney loss, NCAA tourney loss, plus the losses to UCLA and Memphis. That makes 11 with maybe Indiana or a loss to Georgia in there as well.

10-13 at minimum.

Its just the start of a year, and there just trying to see who can play and can't play together. I mean who would of thought florida winning it last year at the start? Not alot of people, but they one it anyways.

I'm a big Lofton fan (surprise, see avatar), but there's no way that UK will lose twice to Tennessee this year.

Exactly, they were better for now. I've never understood, nothing but negative comments, gloom and doom, which some "fans" constantly portray and dwell on.

Its almost if some of you, revel in a UK loss which allows your negative comments, to perpetuate. Constructive criticism, is highly more effective than diatribe of negative, negative, negative.....

This started after one game, one game and already the season is a waste, after loosing 2 games in Maui. Some of "glass is half empty" followers, would make excellent weather forecasters, since they both change from day to day

Great post STRIKE!!!!:ylsuper:

Show me a good loser, and I'll show you a loser. - Vince Lombardi

Have 2.

UNC, stub their toe against IU OR UL...that is 4.

Lose to either USC or UGA on the road...that is 5.

Lose 2 of UT at home, Ark on the road, Florida at home and UT on road...that is 6.

Lose 1 of Bama on road, Vandy on road, and LSU at home...that is 7.

Lose to Florida on road...that is 8.

Lose in SEC tourney...that is 9.

Lose in NCAA tourney...that is 10.

All of that being said, I'm not sure that automatically means a disappointing season (although it clearly does to some, just not me), but it is what it is.

Is the sky falling already?

2 losses against very good teams with our young inexperienced team and everyone if freaking out. There have been a few fire OTS threads and this one about how bad they will be. Everyone relax and after about 15 games we will see how they are doing.

Number 5 and 11. The thing is, everyone(18%) thinks KY should be top 10 every single year and that's not the case at any school ever.

It's nearly impossible these days. The talent level in basketball right now is so huge. Unless your Duke and advertise for recruits on TV.

:thumb: :thumb: Coach Commercial does have a good thing going with that recruiting pitch.

So you're predicting a national championship?

2 losses so far

2 more to non-conference opponents

5 conference losses

That's 9.

While it's admirable that you're so supportive of your team; I'm not seeing the Cats cutting down the nets in the NC game this year.

And in defense of the Cats:

a) It's still VERY early

b) UCLA and Memphis aren't exactly the Little Sisters of the Poor

c) Maybe the national exposure in the Maui tourney will cause some #4 stud to say "you know - they really need me in Lexington - desperately."

One other observaton:

For those whose reaction goes something like this: "At least (fill in the blank - Louisville, Duke, North Carolina, Cincinnati - HAHAHAHA) lost" - I kind of feel sorry for you folks. I guess I'm the type that gets a whole lot more enjoyment out of having "my team" win than having some other team lose. I get the feeling that puts me in a distinct minority, however.

Finally, 10-loss seasons aren't the end of the world. They just aren't what UK fans are used to (well, maybe they're getting used to them, but they don't have to like them). Much more important is if enough improvement will be made over the next 4+ months to become a contender - not just a participant - at tourney time.

????? Where did I say anything about a National Title? I just think we will win some more games this year. Last year we lost to Vandy twice. I dont think that will happen this year. Also we lost to LSU, Alabama, and Florida twice. I dont see us losing all those games this season. They are great teams, but us being IMO better, we will rise to the occasions a couple times that we flat out didnt rise up last season. And of course its college basketball. Who knows what will happen! Its such a great game!

They win it every year????????????????

They win it every year????????????????

No they are a top 10 team every year.

10 losses is very possible, and with the schedule we will be playing this year, most team would get 10 losses or atleast close to it. Playing in the Maui, and then just the rest of our non conference games is a real tough schedule to begin with, and then not to mention having to play in the SEC against real tough opponents, it would be hard not to have a few losses...However though even if we do get 10 losses I think this team could really surprise ALOT of people come tournament time, because are freshman will be even better by then, and with all the good competition we will have seen, we will be really prepared for the tournament...

No they are a top 10 team every year.

Not every year.
