No matter how you want to cut the cloth, Mike has been playing the charade game for quite some time. He doesn't want to relive the 'Fire Mike ' days before he had his run in the 90's, so he keeps jabbing at the rival he HATES the most. Showing no class or sportsmanship looks bad not only on your staff and team , but on your school as well. The St.X enrollment has been behind Trinity's for some time , and they have way more alumni than does T. When their administration stops looking through their gold colored glasses , they would see a man that is full of deceit and hatred. Catholics aren't supposed to live that way , in any form . Over stepping the Trinity loss wasn't an oversight; he has his people thinking it shouldn't count.

Unbelievable quote . It doesn't hurt to have your 2 losses to the team that is going to win the state.(he should have stated , that he wants to see Male win the state) Thats' not what he said last year about the team that beat him in their 'last game'.

And yet again , they didn't 'win their last game'. Maybe I should be quiet now because I love the fact that he is their coach. Hate is a blinding force that leads good people into the gates of .... For my X friends , and I have many, you need a coaching change. Not 750 million bucks in athletic fields and stadiums. To let a man that follows his hate to open your stadium is not in anyone's Christian spirit. St.X is a better place than that. Well , that is what I used to think. And another thing St.X brothers, do you really think that his comment is a good thing for your rematch with the Rocks next year ? People , I'm trying to help you !!!!!!! Atomic scoreboards ,10,000 seats and free hot dogs isn't the problem solving issue here. Male defeated St.X last night not only on the field , but in having class as well. Red was well spoken and humble after his teams' win last night.

 

and finally ........when the officials met with Beatty and Glaser during the storm, Glaser wanted to stop it , every time. Beatty wanted the game to proceed, Glaser was clamoring for a cancellation at first chance, then tells the media that he felt strongly about winning the game. We didn't want it to stop at 10-0 , thats for sure. We would have stood there for 36 hours to play a 5 quarter game. My source, well , lets just say that a good official doesn't lie. The Male -Trinity matchup is a game between the 2 best teams in the state. Period. St.X .....9-3 Is not a bad slate for the tough schedule you played . Great job by Douglas and the Dawgs.....they were just too much to handle last night and seem to be clicking very well. Looking forward to a watching a great matchup next weekend with the Rocks. I hope it is injury free and as exciting as the Bush-Brohm contest, but that is asking for too much I guess. Good luck to both teams and may the victor bring home the hardware.:thumb:

 

To the Senior Tigers....no shame in losing to one (or two) great teams, especially considering the schedule you faced. With my son graduating last year, I admittedly suffered from withdrawal symptoms and alot of mixed emotions in being "just a fan" this season, but I think next years squad will rejuvenate my enthusiasm quite a bit. I watched them most every game at the Frosh and JV level and think the "Band of Brothers" spirit will be back. It should be a great group to break in the new digs on Poplar Level Rd.

Oh but the blind can still speak, and they will. I guess some St.X people think that you would have beaten Trinity , and although I know that you are all absolutely wrong , you can argue it , but not state it. The KHSAA ruled the game could not be called a 'no contest'. The score would remain in a regular season game. The KHSAA made a ruling on the game , and your coach fails to comply with their ruling. There is no such thing as turning your head away from the rules or a ruling. Even just a little bit . Your verdict was handed down and you have to live with it. Or just pretend.

As far as hunkering down, tell that to your coach. 30 years from now when your sitting there with your grandson on your knee, you won't have to say , well wecouldashouldawoulda. You can just say , we were behind 10-0 , and the KHSAA ruled that Trinity won the game.It rained .Not real hard if you ask me .(of course ,being a Rock man, I wanted it to continue so we could have put some turtle wax on your skinned rears) X beat Trinity last year in the regular season by what 32 points or something. It hurt then , but doesn't now. The moral of the story is , 'get over it ' and enjoy life. Sheesh. Congratulations on a great season and we hope you all enjoy your new home field as much as we enjoy Mashall Stadium. Guys , like I said before , I'm trying to help you. No, only one PI tonight and I thought that was questionable. Male's DB's are the best at covering receivers like a glove. You really need a big TE or Wes Caldwell to beat them. With Male blitzing LB's, Petrino will be running all over.

 

St X sent out their big tight end #95 (6'6", 224) last night on receiving routes and there was a height mismatch at times with the Male DB. They later switched up and put #46 Dexter Heyman (6'3", 210) on him. Heyman had a big night on defense, intercepting a St X pass at the goal line and batting down at least one other long pass.

 

Petrino and the Rocks will be a big challenge for this defense because their bread and butter is the long pass and they execute it with precision.

Beaumont had a 60-70 yard touchdown reception called back on a holding penalty--if you see the Insight broadcast of the game watch for it. He made an incredible move one on one with the last St X man in position to stop him at the ten yard line. It was pretty amazing.

 

Looking forward to seeing him suit up as a Cardinal (but not before Doug leads the Bulldogs to this season's conclusion). :dancingpa

Barerock, I don't have a "DOG" in your fight there son, but if you claim to be a Christian the word "Hate' there is used alot. Jesus tells us to love each other, and to love our enemies. The X coach wouldn't be worth his salt if he didn't stand up for his team and the "Storm"... people that nite lost their lives. You were inside the conversation between the refs and the coaches? I have a hard time believeing that Coach Beatty wanted to keep playing that nite. X isn't wrong when they say "we only got beat twice". The game is four quarters long. The kids come first Dude. "Do not judge your brother, for yourself will be judged". On the game, it was just our turn. On the other post I said the kids have had good teams in the past but got knocked out in the playoffs and we knew they would play hard. Its hard when your season ends and after the game Coach Glaser walked through the Male team twice talking to the Male kids and didn't see Douglas and was looking for him. Congratulations to Male on a well deserved victory.

They are perhaps the most physically talented team in the state this year.

Their seniors were undefeated as freshmen and sophomores and have yet to lose this season. They have a chance to be a special team before it is over this year.

 

X's senior class was also special. With the exception of Vic, they certainly were not the most physically talented class. But they were good kids, worked hard and played a most difficult schedule for four years with a lot of success. Over four years they won with class and lost with dignity. Thanks for the memories!
