Central 20 Corbin 19 (Class 3A State Championship)

Featured Replies

There was a skirmish on the Corbin sideline between the two teams during the handshakes after the game.

Any word on what happened over there?

Ive spent a lot of time at Central the last 3 years. Football games, all day wrestling meets, all day academic events. What they are able to do down there is amazing. Lifeblood of a community.

Couldn’t agree more.

Haddix made some questionable calls in this one and it cost Corbin the game. If you don’t trust him to get the PAT why would you send him out for a 44 yard field goal in that situation. And before it’s said I get the idea of avoiding overtime, but with 27 yard to the end zone that is definitely a normal passing distance for a decent QB so you don’t even need a Hail Mary type throw there.

I only saw what they showed in the broadcast. They currently have the video pulled down "preparing replay".

Congrats to Central.

Feel bad for the Hounds.

Nothing quite like putting the game on a cold kickers’ leg.

I'm not sure what they were thinking on the FG, was 100% sure it was going to be a fake. That was at least 10 yards out of his range.

Congrats to Central who stopped Corbin 3 different times in the red zone, can't have that many missed opportunities against a great defense. It came back and bit them in the end.

Isn't a college goalpost narrow than a high school's? Big call to kick the FG at the end.

Corbin dominates the stats..

They were showing handshake line and when several players from both sides started running towards the Corbin sideline they planned over, it was a slow pan and whatever happened was already broken up. Saw mostly Central players maybe one coach directing their guys back across field and several Corbin coaches and players directing their guys back towards midfield of bench area. Was over very quickly

Confirmed what I thought. Going to OT would have been best bet. Corbin moved the ball and I think would win a shootout with this Jackets offense.
