It was from a sportsline article. It sounded a bit odd to me, but that's what it said. Gamecenter says that drive was 5:15. So the first 4 scoring drives were under 2:06. Still amazing considering Rutgers philosophy...

Awesome second half gameplan by Rutgers.....great job coach.

This was and probably will go down for me as being the most disapointing game of the year. It took me about 16 hours before I could even look at these discussions and around 18 or 19 before I could post on them.

 

Bottom line is Rutgers has a good game plan that worked and they never game up. UL, became satisfies at the half, and then couldn't regain their composure in the second half. I love Petrino but I think he was out coached in this game.

Brohm is a great QB, If I had any QB in college that I could Pick to lead my Team......

Still recovering and still upset.....

3 things:

1.I felt that Hunter should have replaced Brohm...While I love Brohm...Rutgers was in his head....he wasn't looking downfield....he was giving up and not playing his game...A rest on the sideline and a chance to see the D from a different perspective might have woke him up...also Hunter is more mobile.

 

2. Petrino went conserative again like he did against WV last year. He was flat out out-coached...that doesn't happen very often. Their LBs were blitzing and flying to the run...where was the playaction pass to the TE or across the middle?

 

3. Kolby Smith drives me nuts. Sometimes he looks great and others he dances around the hole...He did a lot of dancing last night. We missed Bush big time last night! I like Allen much better...he at least sprints through the hole...dancing is for the second level not the line of scrimmage.

I could be wrong but doesn't that money and any other bowl money go to the Big East conference which is then split amoung the member schools.

I'm not sure if its split completely even. The qualifying school might get a larger split than the other conference members. Its still a nice check, either way.

 

Only Notre Dame (and I guess Navy, Army and Temple) would get the entire $14 million for themselves.

X, you and I had the same chance of coming into replace Brohm last night as Hunter did.

If you pull Brohm, you have to be committed to Hunter starting the rest of his career. Not only would it have been a mistake (one of Hunter's big mental weaknesses at this point in his development is making checks at the line and calling protections- sure he's tough when he takes hits, but he takes way more than he should) but it's not something Petrino would have done.

I still can't believe UofL's offense fell apart that bad! Does anybody have just the 2nd half stats from last night. The more I have thought about it the more I think it's one of the better defensive 1/2's I've seen in college! UofL was very arguably THE BEST offense in the Nation and they could barely get a snap off! They were right at negative yards with no first downs for about 5 straight series! That is amazing from a team that didn't win a game a couple of years ago!

It is almost like KY beating Florida to put themselves into the National Championship game only to lose to Vandy right before the end of the season. Tough pill to swallow! UofL has really made a great run though.

I also thought about what if..... Bush+Brohm got a taste of what almost was. Could that help to bring them back next year?

I would take him #1..but I am indeed biased. I think that down for down he is the best decision maker in the NCAA's.

We took our foot off the gas to early and once the crowd got into it we got off our game and started doing things we don't normally do.

The way we ran the ball, threw the ball, and conducted our offense were all out of the norm of our team. I define that as choking.

 

Kolby danced in the backfeild, Brian got happy feet at the slightest bit pressure and he miss threw the ball the enitire second half.

 

Rutgers played no small part in it, but we weren't us in the second half. We let the crowd and the moment get in our heads and we choked.
