November 10, 200619 yr Brian Brohm last night reminded me of Tim Couch when he played for the Browns. He was running for his life out there.
November 10, 200619 yr Just because I don't think Brian Brohm is a great quarterback doesn't mean I don't know the game. I think he is a very good quarterback that plays in an offensive system that makes him look better than he is. I would wager that any of these quarterbacks would do just as well in the same system against the same competition: Brady Quinn, Eric Ainge, JaMarcus Russell, Tyler Palko, Colt McCoy, John David Booty, Andre Woodson, Troy Smith and Chris Leak. Brohm missed 2 games but still has only 6 touchdown passes in 7 games with 4 interceptions, those are not exactly great numbers and it isn't like he doesn't get the opportunity he has 189 attempts (27 per game), his backup has 5 touchdowns in 69 attempts. Again I'm not saying he's average--just that he has a long way to go to be considered great. How did I know as soon as I started reading those names that that would pop up in there? :lol: :lol:

(20-7 overall). If you're going to call Brohm a great quarterback how could you not say the same of Woodson. I was trying to point out several quarterbacks that could do just as well in the normally great offensive system that UL has.

I only counted the games against Louisville and SEC teams. If you take the Louisville, Florida, South Carolina, LSU, and Georgia games he still averages 217 yards with 7 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. Brohm's best 5 opponents have been Kentucky, Miami, Cincinnati, West Virginia, and Rutgers. Against those teams he averaged 255 yards with 5 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. I would give Brohm a little bit of an edge because he threw fewer picks and had a higher completion percentage but there is not a glaring difference. I'm not saying that Woodson is a better quarterback, just that Brohm is far from being a GREAT quarterback. He and Louisville are very good, just not great.

Before you bash Central Michigan too much remember that they are 6-3, played BC to the wire and played Michigan a respectable game. As for the Louisville game he threw his 3 touchdowns in the 2nd and 3rd quarters, not in the 4th. Its funny how last night was not Brohm's fault but Woodson is A-Rod because UK lost to Louisville.

I am now a bandwagon Rutgers fan, they were so classy and humble after the game players and coaches, it was nice to see some kids who have been at the bottom being successful. Lousville was dominated the second half plain and simple. As for Brohm he is a great QB it is not his fault his oline played awful on the pass. However I got so tired of hearing about his football pedigree though; and how he has been coached by his family his whole life, it looked like big brother and him were having some argument over a bicycle or something. It will be interesting to see what happens to this kid once he lives the comfort of home.
