I can't believe this thing is 5 pages in an hour. I knew there would be a lot but not this many this soon. Imo the story in the game tonight was that UL was outplayed, out prepared and OUTCOACHED in this one. Rutgers wanted it more, plain and simple. Rutgers coaching staff made adjustments and kept Brohm confused most of the 2nd half and adjustments were made on their offensive side and Petrino did nothing to counter, he was flat outcoached.JMO. UL was dominated on the line of scrimmage on both sides imo. Besides in Jersey, I would say that there are multiple celebrations in Fla.,Auburn,Texas, N.D. tonight (along with a couple of others).

I don't know about outcoached. At some point players have to make plays, and Louisville's line was flatout outplayed. I also wouldn't call Brohm confused so much as battered.

I've got to say (as a UK fan) that I was upset with UofL's production tonight. They were just outplayed on both sides of the field. Special teams kept UofL in this game. If UofL would have ran every play in the second half they would have won this game.

 

Everytime Brohm took a step back Rutgers was all over him...

 

Screens would have disrupted this pressure that Brohm had on him. I think Petrino learned something tonight.

 

It sure would have been nice to see UofL have a chance playing for that National Title.

(which they took every opportunity to show on ESPN) Was he trying to tell him that he was battered? I thought he was telling him that he was playing horribly and making bad decisions. Surely not though because all we have heard lately is that Brohm is the best quarterback in the country this year--surely he couldn't mess up. I'm sure it was probably due to illness, perhaps he had SCARLET FEVER!:fire:

You act like Louisville didn't throw screens. They did plenty of that.

 

And I assume you mean that runs would have eaten clock. Since Louisville's line got it's lunch eaten on most of the plays of the second half, regardless of whether the plays were runs or passes, I don't think it would have improved things significantly, especially since Louisville's one singular successful drive in the second half was keyed by the pass.

 

The only good, consistant rushing plays Louisville had in the second half were third and long draws that didn't have a prayer to make first down.
