This should be a great game. These teams seemed pretty evenly matched, and unfortunately I think it’ll come down to a turnover or a mistake that the other team is able to capitalize on. I’ll go with Scott County in a close one... 28-23

That’s my question and a reason that I think Scott County wins. A lot of people wrote Scott County off after they lost to Frederick Douglass and Henry Clay. When they beat Douglass in the second round, I considered them in contention for the state championship as much as the other top teams in 6A.

WR Michael Warner was hurt while scoring first TD against Trinity. It looked like he possibly broke his arm.

Coach Wolfe is a defensive savant. Coach McKee is a rushing wizard. These two matched up in the 2013 semi's where Scott got the upper hand (rushed for almost 300) and won 24-10. Could be a repeat; but, I think Wolfe's Dogs have studied Scott for five yers and will be ready. Turnovers/special teams might prove the difference in a close contest.

SC has turned some heads after beating FD. I think they make this a close one but Male will pull through IMO.

Scott County had better be ready for Male's QB. He is a deceptively hard runner and a good passer. Beyond that, he seems to be the heart and soul of the Bulldogs. Trinity could not really handle him. Per T coach Beatty, Male's line play, both OL and DL, was better than T's. Male, with few exceptions, may not have the next-level talent, but they are an excellent high school team all the way around and have a great coach.

Speed vs Power in this one. I’ve thought only 1 team this season could match the speed or Male and that was Frederick Douglass. Scott County will put some scores on the board but not sure they will keep Male out of the endzone. I see this being a similar score to the Scott County/Frederick Douglass game in the regular season.

I am really looking forward to this game. We got to see Male twice this season and had our chance being tied with them in the 4th quarter, like Trinity but Garrett Dennis and Izayah Cummings pulled the game out for the Bulldogs. I was really impressed certainly with Dennis, but both crucial catches by Cummins who was double covered on both the 3rd and 22 and the TD catch. Does Scott County have DBs that are tall? Cummins is 6'3, maybe 6'4.

We had success against them in the regular season game by having or QB scramble against Man coverage. Against Scott county, you have to cover Covington, the WR who has 28 of the total 41 catches on the year. Austin Barnett scored I believe 3 or 4 TDs last year in the semi-final match up and has another running threat in Bronson Brown. The earlier losses to FD and Henry Clay can be attributed to the injured QB, Cade McKee. Male's speed on defense and MVP Garrett Dennis running the RPO wins it in the 4th qtr.

I have a prediction that Male will blitz from the weak side corner non-stop opposite Covington just to cause havoc in the SC backfield. In order to win, I believe SC has to put Covington into the weak side formations and throw bubble screens and quick sweeps outside to that side and have the lead going into the 4th qtr.
