November 11, 20187 yr Author Terry Wilson is not the problem. Who is?? I said earlier it’s a combo of him and Gran???
November 11, 20187 yr I wish I could remember who actually said two weeks ago that this team was better than the ‘77 team. I’ve seen both. No chance. Here’s what some may have been forgetting. Cats were amassing that impressive record by defeating some lower tier opponents, while the likes of Alabama, LSU and Auburn weren’t even on the schedule.
November 11, 20187 yr Terry Wilson is not the problem. Wilson has been inconsistent, but I agree with you, he is far down the line as being UK's biggest problem. They need to run the hurry up offense, call more passing plays on 1st and 2nd down plus have him run the ball more often. UK having to throw time after time on 3rd and long with poor pass protection and virtually no playmakers at WR makes it very difficult to succeed.
November 11, 20187 yr I said this team was deeply flawed everywhere but the defense and Snell and got laughed at. It’s the O-line, it’s Wilson, it’s the OC,........it all starts and ends with a QB. His inability to throw anywhere down the field has made everything look bad.
November 11, 20187 yr This was what I was afraid of. U.K. imo let UGA beat them twice, meaning they were still down / stinging from last week's loss. As for poor performances in this one, there were many but I would say that the Cats O line would be front and center on that list. UT was prepared, ready to play. The Vols improve every week and imo that shows that they picked the right head coach this time. UT and Florida will soon join UGA as the three way battle for the SEC East every season.
November 11, 20187 yr Don't overlook Middle Tennessee next week. It is far from a given victory. James Franklin has the Air Raid humming with the coach's son (Stocksill) flinging it around like Drew Brees. Ky could lose the next two. Sure hope not, but Georgia did beat us twice and I fear it may get worse.
November 11, 20187 yr Terry Wilson has not shown he is a D1 QB in any game he has played this year. As many have pointed out the problem is not athletic in nature but is a mental issue. Eddie Gran can call all the plays right and still not successfully navigate because of execution. Yes, Terry Wilson brings a big running ability to the table but right now he is running scared. The QB's that bring teams back are not those that slide 3 yards short of a 1st down or run out of bounds with the game on the line to avoid getting tackled. I agree with the gentleman that said start Hoak against Middle Tennessee and let him play the whole game; Kentucky might discover they can have a passing attack.
November 11, 20187 yr South Carolina figured something out in that second half and this team hasn’t been the same since. I’m not sure what that is, but something switched and every single team has copied that from SC and UK (in typical UK fashion) is incapable of making adjustments. This take is 100% spot on! Everything has changed since the 1st half of the South Carolina game and teams have made the same adjustments. Plus, UK has a very good defense, one of the best in the nation, but the lack of offense is keeping them on the field too much and too often. They’re beat to a frazzle.
November 11, 20187 yr Here’s what some may have been forgetting. Cats were amassing that impressive record by defeating some lower tier opponents, while the likes of Alabama, LSU and Auburn weren’t even on the schedule. Are you talking about this year or ‘77?
November 11, 20187 yr It may not be a bad thing they are missing a new yrs bowl. They would have gotten embarrassed and may still who ever they play.
November 11, 20187 yr Are you talking about this year or ‘77? This year. The schedule has produced some false optimism.
November 11, 20187 yr They always have Nashville to fall back on. I think most UK fans have had about all of the Music City Bowl that they can stomach. It was exciting the first two times but it’s popularity has worn thin. But if that’s the best offer that’ll probably be the destination. A big drop from what we were hoping for, which a win yesterday would have probably secured.

UK better score some points. Just sayin. And I'm pulling for the Cats!
