November 11, 20187 yr Eddie Gran stinks, huh? Who could have imagined... I think Benny just ran it up in the A gap again. And again. No creativity or anything to keep em off balance. What a joke.
November 11, 20187 yr Eddie Gran stinks, huh? Who could have imagined... My buddy reminded me last night what you told us about Gran about 3-4 years ago at a Cincinnati basketball game.
November 11, 20187 yr It kind of looks like UK's annual downward trend has arrived.......but just about a month later than usual. The team just doesn't seem to have the energy it once had.
November 11, 20187 yr I really don’t think he’s that bad of a thrower from a physical perspective. I think he can make every throw a college QB needs to make. I think it’s the mental side with him. He looks like he lacks confidence. QB needs to be the most confident guy on the field and he’s just not right now. C’mon guys, he’s really, really bad. The 2 most important things a QB needs at any level, including the NFL, is accuracy and decision making and he has neither and probably never will, just the way it is, accuracy might improve some but decision making probably won’t. He’s going to be our starting QB 2 more years?? Not looking forward to that. Both these are accurate. I have been trying defend TW thinking the issue was Gran's play calling. But its hard to figure out which is the chicken and which is the egg with QB ability and plays that can work for a limited QB. Confidence and team leadership is not there for TW. Even when its a 3-and-out he should come off the field like he will lead them to a TD the next series and can not wait to get back out there. Instead, head down, coaches in his ear, usually dejected. Accuracy has this issue. He can not visual the route and throw to where the receiver will be on the short to medium routes. This is why UK is limited to throwing long go routes, post routes, corner routes or pass at or behind the line - the swings to the RBs or the quick outs behind the line to the wide out. What TW can not hit with any consistency is a slant, out or dig. Those are the plays where they should be getting to Conrad and Bowden - the big play makers. Bouvier has caught some of these type passes this season but almost every one of these type passes has been off target and behind him - i.e. TW is throwing there receiver IS or just a slight lead and is not throwing where he will be when the ball arrives. He also can not throw before the receiver makes the break on the out patterns. I think when he holds on too long it is because he will not release until the receiver is through the cut and looking at him. Its visualization and timing that he lacks. Give him a static target or a long pass that the receiver can run under - he is OK. But the medium passes that should be going to the play makers are just not there. He fails to pull the trigger when he should or he is off target, usually throwing behind the receiver.

A play from the Vandy game keeps popping into my mind, Wilson throws a 10 YARD SLANT, receiver is open with linebacker trailing on his hip, Wilson not only threw it behind the open receiver, he also threw it behind the linebacker trailing him so far he couldn’t pick it off!!
November 12, 20187 yr Here is some interesting info::popcorn: Sophomore quarterback Terry Wilson completed 21 of 34 passes for 172 yards and one touchdown. Wilson completed 66.3 percent of his passes in UK’s four SEC road games, 67 of 101. That is the second-highest single-season completion percentage in SEC road games in school history. The record is 67.9 percent by Tim Couch in his 1998 SEC road games.
November 12, 20187 yr They always have Nashville to fall back on. I think most UK fans have had about all of the Music City Bowl that they can stomach. It was exciting the first two times but it’s popularity has worn thin. But if that’s the best offer that’ll probably be the destination. A big drop from what we were hoping for, which a win yesterday would have probably secured. 9-3 is most likely The Outback Bowl. I'll take that.

November 13, 20187 yr Author Stoops told everyone to shut up, that the coaching staff people are criticizing is about to win 9 games. I hope he didn’t do that, the way the offense is playing there’s no guarantee UK is going to win another game.
