Do you have an issue with what Jimbo did this weekend? If you didn't see it, Jimbo grabbed one of his players by the facemask to yell at him after getting in a scuffle on the field.

Why would someone need to do this? There are way better ways to get their attention. #1 being take a seat and watch a while. Always worked for me.

Just because it was common practice forty years ago doesn't make it right. I see no reason to put your hands on someone unless it is self defense. This clearly wasn't that.

Because something like this was acceptable in the good ‘ol days doesn’t make it right. This is not a good look for Jimbo. If I were a parent of a recruit trying to make a decision where my son played and I was leaning toward Jimbo and A&M seeing something like this onTV would un-lean me in a second.

Same thing for basketball. There’s other ways for a coach to get his point across without putting his hands on his players. It got Sean Woods several games suspension when he was coaching basketball at Morehead State.

Jimbo Fisher, Texas A&M Aggies coach, defends grabbing player's facemask

"Listen, he and I have a relationship that's second-to-none," Fisher said Monday. "He's my unity council guy, he's a guy that's in my office once or twice a week as I discuss problems with our team, the way we're going to do things and he understood exactly, because I told him, I said 'I can't lose you. You're our team leader, you're our team captain, you're our leading tackler ... I mean, you call all the signals, you do everything.' And I was just trying to get his attention, to get his attention to keep him back in the game and not make a critical mistake and lose him in the game.

I haven’t really taken a stance on it. I want to say it’s no big deal because it looks like no big deal. His player was acting stupid and Jimbo simply got his attention, but some of you are adament he should, “keep his hands to himself.”

Is grabbing the face mask of a player the same as putting your hands on a player? I’m genuinely confused by this whole thing because I feel like I should be outraged, but I’m not because this looks harmless to me.
