There weren't many pistols that held more than 8 back then, maybe a few .22 automatics. It wasn't until 9mm hit big that you could get 12 rounds or more in a common pistol.

May 23, 20188 yr With a gun? How do you define it? With whatever tool it takes to stop evil. You have had years to ponder gun control laws and you have no suggestions that could have prevented this tragedy?

Until then gun control only means one thing to you, controlling who is allowed to have them and who isn’t. I’ll stop there because politics is forbidden but my point is made.

May 23, 20188 yr I saw a guy with a gun on his hip with swimming trunks on gassing his boat. Come on, man ?! When I was a kid guns came out when you shot something, Otherwise they were in the closet. Love the folks that don’t understand gun legality. Having a concealed carry means you can hide your weapon. Everyone, without permit can carry one on their side in public.

If you can’t it’s not a problem,and you’re wrong.” Makes perfect sense.
May 23, 20188 yr Mass shootings in the US don't just happen at schools and they aren't carried out only by millennials. Guns have been part of our country since its founding. However, by and large, those guns were used for putting food on the table and self defense. Families owned guns and children were taught how to safely use them when they were of a proper maturity to do so. They were also taught a healthy respect for guns. Gun ownership was not equated with being patriotic. That same respect for guns does not exist today. Guns are becoming entertainment. Want to blow through 2000 rounds of ammo this weekend? I can own as many guns as I want, just because I CAN! This is 'Merica. Take my gun when you can pry it from my cold, dead hand. Heck, we have people taking their graduation photos with their guns. Did that happen back in the 50s? I want to be able to own guns that I can safely store and use for protection. I want my brother to be able to own guns that he can safely store and use for hunting. I want us both to be able to practice using those weapons to maintain proficiency. However, his children have learned the same respect for guns that my father taught us. All weapons are safely and securely stored. I've been to homes lately and seen things that I'm not going to impart here, but those things convince me that we have a problem when we are more interested in being able to own a gun than we are with being able to keep innocent people safe from guns. I was speaking of school shootings and they are overwhelmingly this generation. Yes, whaen you add all of them into it, many that commit the crime are between the ages of 20 and 49. What you explain is what I hear in the media, not the norm, at least what I see and I see a lot and have for nearly 40 years now. The vast majority of people still use them to put food on their table, they still use them for protection, they still teach their children to use them safely and they're still taught a healthy respect for guns. Ther are and have always been exceptions to these and telling me there hasn't won't work because I've been closer to it than most and have seen it for a long time. I agree we can and always could do better. Who claims it's patriotic to own a gun? I know of no one that says that. The 'Merica thing is old and tired rhetoric and we all now where it came from. The "Take my gun when you can pry it from my cold, dead hand" was a Charleston Heston remark in response to gun bans that's simply over played. You can buy as many guns as you want so long as you're a law abiding citizen and that shouldn't bother anyone. I've never heard of people taking their graduation photos with their guns, but in some parts of the country it wouldn't surprise me if it happened even in the 50s. I'd say most (darn near all) gun owners want children to be safe, want you and your brother to be able to own guns and want guns to be stored safely. There have always been irresponsible adults, that's nothing new, I do want it to change though.
