May 23, 20188 yr Except neither Santa Fe nor Marshall Co involved the use of an AR-15 or any semi auto rifle. So you ban the AR and these keep happening what is next? The semi auto hand guns, then shot guns, then ect... Those that want ban any gun in response to these shootings doesn't want to admit it isn't guns causing this. I seem to recall an early compromise push to ban bump stocks after Vegas. That would have cut down on some of the numbers that night. What happened to that push?
May 23, 20188 yr Doubtful, they would have just used other guns or pressure cookers or fertilizer. As I've said before it's not about what they use it's the why. This last kid used everything but the kitchen sink and killed 10. A terrible number, but let’s not pretend the death count wouldn’t have been higher if he had better weapons.

May 24, 20188 yr Author If a ban isn't wanted why waste the energy talking about guns. Why not focus on really solutions? I think there are plenty of potential solutions surrounding guns and who has access to them that make it a worth while discussion.

May 24, 20188 yr Author You will have expand on what you mean. In order to purchase a gun there has to be a universal background check into criminal history. In order to purchase a gun there must be a clean mental health evaluation in a certain timeframe before the purchase. Some version of PP92s idea where the legal gun owner is held responsible when their gun is used in a crime would go a long way to curtailing the access to these weapons by the nutjobs.
