May 23, 20188 yr I don't know. We can deal with that issue when it arises....But maybe, just maybe, the problem wouldn't continue. :idunno: Would be nice, but since guns aren't the cause, only the tool, I wouldn't expect it.

I don't want guns banned, and I've asked those very questions to gun owners I know. They were more than willing to have the discussion, gave me well-thought out answers and didn't scoff at the fact I dared asked the questions.

It seems you're automatically assuming someone who asks those questions is calling for a ban. I think most are asking them because they're trying to gain an understanding of why it's necessary. After the discussions I've had with people I know that own those weapons, I still don't think they're necessary, but I also don't think they should be banned.

Except neither Santa Fe nor Marshall Co involved the use of an AR-15 or any semi auto rifle. So you ban the AR and these keep happening what is next? The semi auto hand guns, then shot guns, then ect... Those that want ban any gun in response to these shootings doesn't want to admit it isn't guns causing this.

May 23, 20188 yr I don't think the majority want to ban guns, but there is a large segment that does. There was a "guy" on TV just this week advocating a mandatory buy back plan and all that failed to participate (turn in their guns) would be charged with a felony for possessing a firearm. This guy was on TV saying this, because that idea does appeal to a certain amount of people.

Doubtful, they would have just used other guns or pressure cookers or fertilizer. As I've said before it's not about what they use it's the why.

My point is this...let's say after the Florida shooting AR15s were banned. Sante Fe happens then what? Shot guns and hand guns get banned right? Or are we going to admit it's not a gun problem?

So if you don't think guns should be what else matters in regards to these shootings? What does it matter why someone wants to own one or what they can be used for? Again, specifically in regards to discussing ways to better protect schools? If you just want to discuss guns in general by all means I'm down.
