Put it on the list @Run To State.

Is that where Joe's Older Than Dirt used to be?

No but it is close to there. Joe’s turned into Red Barn Kitchen which has now closed and is Joe’s once again.

Culver's has a surprisingly good fish sandwich also...don't sleep on them.

I stopped there today after leaving the boys state tourney. I got the fish sandwich. It was really good. Just wish I had order no cheese. It was a big thick piece of cod fish which is what I like. I will go back there again. Thanks for letting me know about it.

Glad you liked it.

I had the fish from Wasington Square in Burlington. It was huge and ranks up there with the best I've had.

Been years since I had one other than at the Lenten fish frys. Barleycorns had a pretty good fish sandwich at one time.

Barleycorn's Beer Battered Cod USED TO BE tops.

It is now a mere shadow of its former self.

Too bad!!!

The owner (Cold Spring) prefers the Grouper Fingers, so that is now what they push.

I don’t recall that place, but I do remember Dockside Dave’s in Madeira Beach. It was across the street from where we stayed. The grouper fillet was twice the size of the bun. I grabbed lunch there twice as I walked across the street and it was packed with locals on their lunch breaks.

Looking at the map, they’re just a block apart.

Both are excellent. I give a slight nod to DD's.

I was thinking about hitting up a fish fry on the way home, but this thread has ruined that idea for me. I'm not going to get anything close to that grouper sandwich. lol....

I always got mine lightly blackened on the grill, but this fried one gives you an idea of the size of the filet.

This is the one from Off the Hook Bistro. It's a hoss!

I miss Stan’s Fish Sandwich in Louisville. Good Trinity folks that made one heck of a fish platter. They shut it down and retired a few years back.

Still haven’t found a spot in town I like as much, though The Fishery right across the street from the old Stan’s is now a go-to, along with The Fish House on Winter Avenue in the Highlands.

If you happen to find yourself in the Greater Metropolitan Bloomfield, Ky, area on the correct Friday, stop by and see the folks at American Legion Post 288 on US 62 — it's on the right going up the hill as you're headed toward Chaplin and eventually Lawrenceburg. Tell Sue and Gary I said hi.

They do a fish fry on alternating Fridays (the VFW post in B'field takes the other Fridays) from Lent and throughout basically the summer. Their fried cod sandwich is hand-breaded and fantastic. They also do a shrimp platter. Good folks, good conversation and good food, and very cold beer as well.

It's their turn this coming Friday, and I think I will make my way there as I couldn't make it up there last year.

Both are excellent. I give a slight nod to DD's.

Another to add to the list. :)
