Dontaie Allen

I haven't noticed that. That could partly be because not many know of KyKy and not a lot of posters from his area. More people on here have seen Dontae. I've only watched each once which isn't fair to either but off of one game I'd take KyKy. But the offers Dontae is getting tells me I need to watch him more often.

I look forward to watching them both next season. I hate that the state doesn’t get behind both of them equally. They both deserve our love and support.

Cal doesn't show up just because.....i think and hope an offer comes soon

So as long as Dontaie or his dad don’t say that if he comes to UK then he wants to play right away then he’ll be welcomed in to BBN with open arms?

I know Dontaie's dad (not personally, played a lot of basketball and softball with him), he's a humble dude. Very cool to be around. I have a video on VHS of his dad dunking over one of my high school teammates that should be on a poster. He was a total athlete if there ever was one.

That being said, I'm sure he wants what is best for his kid. I'm also sure he'll let Dontaie pick the right situation for Dontaie.

I've noticed the same thing PP92

I thought he wasn’t a “high major” basketball player? This kid is really good. No, he isn’t a Top 20 kid, but he’s definitely a power 6 player.

He has definitely stepped up the competition level and proven he can be a high major scorer. I still have some concerns about his overall athleticism and if he can guard at the highest level, but there is no doubt he is going to get the chance to prove himself there with his play this spring/summer...

Because it feels like people have been looking for a reason to root against KyKy and everyone is rooting for Dontaie. It’s weird to me that people turned against KyKy so quickly and I’ll never understand why folks in KY turn on homegrown KY kids so quickly.

I still want KyKy at UK. Heck his name is Kentucky Kentucky

I agree. I think, which isn’t my best quality, that during HS season, he doesn’t give it 100% because he’s that much better and it’s too easy. I could be completely wrong, but I believe he plays based on the competition around him.

Add Oklahoma to the list.

Allen's high school team last season didn't really win anything other than a district title, so does that mean the competition around him bored him as those teams advanced further than PC and Allen?

Iowa State has offered.

Probably have seen Dontae 20 times over the last three years. I think he is the consummate team player and works hard to share and allow teammates to give what they've got; but, whan needed he dominates. Great player that is a joy to watch. His athleticism is best demonstrated by how smoothly he consistently gains separation. He might not gain heavy minutes early at U.K. (If offered); but, I believe by his upper class years he would be a solid contributor. Would not surprise me to see him go to another SEC school just to haunt prove the home state doubters wrong.

IMO he doesn’t seem selfish. I’ve seen him a few times, granted that’s not a great way to really tell how he functions, but he doesn’t seem to try and be the only one. He can take over, but a better team will beat PC. He’s gonna be the best player on the floor 99% of the time, but a team will beat one guy 9/10 times. PC’s success shouldn’t reflect on his talent.
