the way I understand it, you have to sit out a year, but can appeal. usually family move or financial hardship will do the job.

So you would support this scenario.

 

Freshman: Play at Western Hills

Sophomore: Play at Lex Cath

Junior: Play at Boyle County

Senior: Play at Trinity

I definitely would.

No way. That completely ruins the integrity of the game. It promotes everything that’s wrong with our society. Kids who didn’t get their way would be transferring left and right.

 

Kids can’t transfer without parental approval so is it kids not getting their way or mom and Dad not getting their way? Either way, the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. Not every transfer situation is a success story and a lot of times folks regret leaving. I’m fine with that lesson being learned also.

The fact is in Kentucky we don't really know what the rules are anymore. The written rules have been bent and broken so often without impunity from the KHSAA I am not sure anyone knows.

Well I don't think they are reckless, I will also add that there are other factors at play inside Jefferson County that are getting to these kids and are having influences on them. I want to also clarify I am not talking about coaches at schools either.

Wandale confirmed in the Herald Leader that he was seriously considering Trinity.

The fact is, the KHSAA is scared of their own shadow and never enforces their rules. They've lost in court a few times and haven't taken the time to revise their laws to fit what the courts have said what they can and can't do.

I have a lot of respect for him for doing the right thing IMO and staying at the Hills.

Me too, but at the same time I can't fault kids or parents who choose to make a decision they feel is best for getting their kids in a better situation for their future.

 

Wandale's talent was big enough that he got noticed by the big schools.

 

For other kids, they may have D-1 talent but are in situations where D-1 exposure is not likely. If they or their parents feel getting them to a place where they can better be noticed helps secure a scholarship and gives them a head start on a bigger future then more power to them.

 

Cameron Jones from Frederick Douglass is an example of this. If he stayed at Knott Central I am thinking the best case scenario he would have had would be a preferred walkon spot at a "bigger" school and an opportunity at a OVC school may have been his best "offer" potential with NAIA being the most logical landing spot.

 

Even without throwing a pass in a Frederick Douglass game I think just being at a larger school in Lexington legitimized him in the eyes of recruiters and now he is going to Cincy.

 

At Knott Central I don't think a Cincy recruiter would ever darken the hallway sadly.
