Does that really matter at this point? The question is how many of them and the coaches are truly "bought" in?

 

The "had no talent" comment is simply absurd. Many question if there was enough to win a state title and that I cannot answer. But I can say with 100% certainty that if things had been done differently in the 2015 semi-final game against Pulaski County they would have been "playing" for a state title. That team had more than enough "talent" to compete if it was used wisely and there was an "ability" to make in game changes.

 

IMO "complacency" was a major issue over the last 3 plus years and now the warning shot has been fired and it is time for the coaches and players to each make the decision as to whether they are in or they are out.

Whole lotta people that seem to know what should have been done in certain coaching situations. I look for there to be quite a few applicants to submit their resumes whenever the job does open up.

Are you comparing the Basketball program to the Football program? You are just funnin right...someone pls make it stop

 

If you're referencing my comments, then, yes. I thought Highlands held everything (academics, athletics, etc.) to a high standard. Like I said, if football is above everything else, then pay the head coach to do nothing else but football, then, if he fails, you have no reason not to fire him because you've made your intentions clear.

BW is an excellent teacher, an excellent coach, and his kids love him. He's a teacher first, then a coach. If you fire BW, then you have to fire the basketball coaches because neither are winning at the rate they should. If not, then pony up $60,000 and hire a "football only" coach (which I'm sure some will be all for). Otherwise, be happy that you have great teachers and great coaches who care about their kids and work their tails off.

I'd miss the rivalry and I don't really think we need to worry because I doubt they'll ever find another coach on Dale's level.

I'm just laughing at it because you'd always hear about the unity, tradition, a program that couldn't fail, how the school was so much more than football, etc, etc, but now that they're struggling it sounds like a civil war is about to happen in Fort Thomas!

I heard first hand that the private meeting between administrators was very uncomfortable for Coach which eventually succumbed him to tears, that is just wrong.

 

There are some very mean people out there that just don’t get it but I do understand the upset boosters that were thrown under the bus.

True but they really don't need a coach on Dale's level since it really wasn't a rivalry during his years. To bring back the rivalry they just need to get back to the normal level that HHS has historically operated at. We'll never experience a run like Dale's again and that's ok. Not desirable, but ok.

I am totally confused. I have heard on here for two years that the talent is down at Highlands. Now people are saying there was plenty of talent this year.

My senior year (what should have been my senior year), we beat Highlands in the playoffs. It's hard to think that we wouldn't have given them a game my sophomore and junior years if not for the wreck.

 

Or maybe it wouldn't have made much of a difference, but, looking at the makeup of our team and the success we had anyways, it's hard to think that it wouldn't have mattered.
