Will Highlands have open enrollment this year?

As an outsider looking in from afar, I can assure you that it is.

 

Umm … yeah. This is wild fun.

 

I would be curious to know how many players on the current roster have parents or relatives that actually wore a Highlands uniform at one point.

 

I thought the Ft. Thomas community was so insular that no outsiders dare enter. That's what I was always told, anyway.

 

This thread is incredibly entertaining, and not from a hater standpoint (my HS didn't have football, and I hate that I went there, and my parents didn't send me somewhere else). I really don't care; I'm just interested. I hope you diehards can sort it all out in a kind and nurturing manner that helps one of Ky's great football programs going forward. But, that's clearly not going to happen.

My senior year (what should have been my senior year), we beat Highlands in the playoffs. It's hard to think that we wouldn't have given them a game my sophomore and junior years if not for the wreck.

 

Or maybe it wouldn't have made much of a difference, but, looking at the makeup of our team and the success we had anyways, it's hard to think that it wouldn't have mattered.

I am totally confused. I have heard on here for two years that the talent is down at Highlands. Now people are saying there was plenty of talent this year.

They almost always do. There were only a couple years where I remember that they closed off certain grades but that was a while back. Maybe I missed something.

No coaching changes or that they all haven't committed to return?

Has the basketball program ever had one of the top reputations in the country like football used to have?

 

The football program also made a lot more money than basketball.

 

 

I'd miss the rivalry and I don't really think we need to worry because I doubt they'll ever find another coach on Dale's level.

I'm just laughing at it because you'd always hear about the unity, tradition, a program that couldn't fail, how the school was so much more than football, etc, etc, but now that they're struggling it sounds like a civil war is about to happen in Fort Thomas!

 

 

Rivalry is barely back at this point. We just got through 10 years where Cov cath didnt even have a pulse and now HHS has had two rough years.

As of June 30, 2017 according to their report they publish they collected $922k in tuition. Not sure how that compares to prior years.

I don’t know who you are or do I care. I am telling my people to stay strong and do not buckle under pressure to those ppl that do not matter in this whole thing.

 

I heard first hand that the private meeting between administrators was very uncomfortable for Coach which eventually succumbed him to tears, that is just wrong.

 

There are some very mean people out there that just don’t get it but I do understand the upset boosters that were thrown under the bus.

 

And yes they were threatening emails

Open enrollment policy has to do with room of the class size/classrooms, not football. The elementary schools have been most likely to change because of their overcrowding. Have you been in any of them in the Past 5-10 years?

Yeah there's noway that happened! I know Brian well enough to know that he would be able to keep his Composure and Defend himself as it happened....I'm sure he was emotional as he should be but to say he was Crying is reaching a little.

You really think Dale would have won it the few years?

 

Maybe or maybe not....Who knows? I know one thing, Matt Shearer would of been a Bluebird and not a Pioneer. Think about that for a moment!

 

Also and I'm not denying it happened, but what players would of transferred in to play for Dale Mueller? 3 maybe 4 or maybe none but you can't sit there and say that Highlands isn't better than what they have been the last 3-4 years if he was still the Coach.

 

Why can't Brian Weinrich provide the same results? That's not for me to answer.....It's his program not Dale Muellers.

It's always open!...........................Until that Class is Full. So if the Incoming 8th grade class has room for 20 out of district kids providing Ft Thomas has already accommodated the Kids that live within the District, they will allow up to 20 out of district students to enroll in the Incoming "8th" grade class. Does that make sense?

 

We will take all the Tuition students that will allow. That money is vital to most of the teacher programs set in place. Without that money it cannot happen and Highlands level of Academics will drop drastically.

I just heard a number this morning there are 1100 more kids enrolled in Fort Thomas schools then there were I think he said 4 years ago. And that's a pretty reliable source.
