#4 Coaches attire

 

I know in the past when Dale was coaching, they dressed the same as they do today. Hodge podge! But when you are winning, people don’t notice. When you are losing, reflection on the program as a whole

 

#5 Mandatory that 11 players are on the field the entire game, not just some of the time

It's not Newport Football, its Highlands football. State Championship is always the goal. Highlands has a crazy unfair advantage of a community that is willing to run through a brick wall for the football program. The State Championship was the year after Dale retired.

It doesn’t matter who Football it is... Some here have embarrassed the Highlands program more than BW could ever dream of doing. Of course a title is always the goal. But you gonna fire every guy that doesn’t win it for three years? How ridiculous is that?

On the other hand about that state championship, they were down 40 points at halftime and found a way back after that. Beau Hoge is unreal talent, but to come back from that in the state game for the win is top shelf coaching. So he can do it. That doesn't just happen even with Beau Hoge.

Ha no, I just meant that it has gotten progressively worse for the most part each year. Brian won that state championship hands down. Guy is a great coach, he can turn it around.

It would be nice if there was some sort of plan of action to right the ship. If so, who would it come from? School board, AD and Sup I would suppose right?

 

Hopefully they have the insight to put together something soon. Because I would assume everyone agrees something has to give. If not the coaches, then the way they coach and go about it. Because the players are not changing. They are what they are. So this one is on BW and his crew to get everything right.

 

My Plan of Action

 

#1 Do not wear uniform to Dixie Chili after games!

 

#2. Anyone else?

 

#2 figure out who the most talented players are.(Don't say there isn't any talent.)

#2A Take those players and figure out where they will make the biggest impact.

#2B Learn how to prepare to recover an onside kick.

#2C Figure out who the starting QB is before the 1st round of the playoffs.

#2D Have the players buy into the program and not just the HC.

#2E Learn how to make adjustments in game, or at halftime.

 

Hope the coaches and players prepare for a great season, it won't be easy.

Absolutely does...anybody that believes differently is just silly imo

 

Those Sr,Jr,and Soph still were drinking Dales koolaid. Heck BW still was following Dales philosphy that he learned which ultimately helped him win his one and only State Championship.

 

The koolaid has gone hard, the current players don't even know who Dave Mullins was and they think that the best part of Friday nights is to get their snack and juice box at Dixie Chili after a game because they deserve it.
