Hope this thread goes through the entire offseason as it certainly has captivated me

When Dale coached there wasn't many that played other sports so there off season program you all talk about I'm sure was great. Times have changed the kids have changed, although HHS has talent they don't have near as much as when Dale was there. The kids have other interest and its not just about HHS football for them. Dale was a great coach but don't think for one second that he didn't have a ton of talent on both sides of the ball and you don't have to be from HHS to know that.

 

HHS is not the big fish anymore, so it maybe something many will have to get use to.

I did, against my best judgement, and it sounds like it was just a few upset parents that may or may not have even been true and just something being stirred up by someone from Beechwood trying to cause drama.

Then you'll see that it was a non-issue and nowhere near what is happening in Fort Thomas.

 

Did you even believe what you posted or were you just hoping that I'm too brain damaged to realize that it was wrong or to go look it up?

BW knows what needs to be done to fix the trajectory of the program.

He was there for 20 years and is not blind or stupid.

This year is his chance to do that.

He is a great guy and a great coach, I'm glad he felt some heat but now has another chance.

It doesn’t matter who Football it is... Some here have embarrassed the Highlands program more than BW could ever dream of doing. Of course a title is always the goal. But you gonna fire every guy that doesn’t win it for three years? How ridiculous is that?

 

So how have I embarrassed the program? Try to not be so offended life is too short. I never even said he should be fired. I think many have problems with change in culture. They voice those opinions on a high school football thread. Seems about right.

 

If I showed you a graph of statistics of Highlands Football from 1995 to today you would say wow what happened right there, and you would point to a specific point in time on the graph. When there are points in time like that with an organization the people who contribute to the organization will look around and say what is going on? Its human nature.

On the other hand about that state championship, they were down 40 points at halftime and found a way back after that. Beau Hoge is unreal talent, but to come back from that in the state game for the win is top shelf coaching. So he can do it. That doesn't just happen even with Beau Hoge.

 

Erasing a 40 point halftime deficit would be one heck of a coaching job. Coming back from being down 42-21 is not quite as impressive (still impressive) but also consistent with reality.

Over all yes not saying they don't have talent but when Dale was there if was on both sides of the ball. Also most of those boys played football only that's a big difference. BW is dealing with a hole different type of situation.

Official winter weights with coaches and team do not start until after the first of the year if I remember correctly.

 

That's because highlands was playing in December. Now with early exits in November they are getting started earlier.
