Continuously Growing List of Men Accused of Sexual Misconduct, Harassment & Assault

Featured Replies

Do you realize what women go through when they try to do the right thing at the time? Trust me, this hits home for me and I've seen first hand how women have to deal with the absurd accusations.

I do understand, I have seen It first hand myself. I was asking for context as to what you mean by this day and age, a question you still haven't answered.

My reason for said question was multiple. Mostly we, as a people, like to think we are progressing. So I was asking if you meant this day and age being, now, past 50, or 500.

I feel that 50 years ago, we hadn't moved forward with women's rights, speaking out, etc nearly as much as today. But to think things had really changed that much in those aspects between 50 years ago and 500 years before is a little off.

I'm saying that, because, before victims didn't have a platform. Now they do. 50 years ago and every year prior, you had to have a victim that would talk(hard enough just being a victim, now you want them to talk about it), then you had to have someone with clout, or that wouldn't go quietly for it to become a story. Essentially a reporter or a relative that just wouldn't give up.

Now, simply say something or type something and in minutes hundreds of thousands of people can know about it. I guess in MY mind it's always gone on. But it was too easy to silence victims. Now, thankfully it's not. One of the few upsides to social media currently.

Also this isn't a female issue. A lot of the victims stepping forward are male as well, mostly juvenile at the time.

I get that, but let's be honest, this garbage is happening at an alarming rate and has been for a long time.

I agree. There are a lot of bad people out there.

I'm sorry, I misunderstood your original post. I shouldn't have jumped to a conclusion.

I do agree that more recently victims have a voice they didn't use to. I also think HB20 has a point that sometimes accusers are lying. This is a very delicate subject for many obvious reasons. You are correct that victims didn't have a platform years ago but now do and more of them are coming forward and that's a good thing. But I still think there are a lot of victims out there that are being coerced and intimidated into being silent. I'm hopeful that people get the message that it's time for this abuse to end....now.

I do realize this isn't a female only issue, I did say in post #2 that men and minors are also being abused.

I have read about boys being sexually done by GUYS.

But I havent read where any women have forced men or boys to have sex for jobs, etc.

More new allegations out on Franken and more new out against Slick Willy since he left office..

Mainly, because, even now, it's mostly men who are in the positions of power, especially in Hollywood, politics etc.

Charlie Rose?

Who would've thunk Charlie Rose?

Who next... the Dalai Lama?

(For the record in no way am I putting Mr. Rose on the level of the Dalai Lama). :lol2:

I won't be shocked by anyone who is added to this growing list.

CBS fired Rose today. Said details of his accusations are disturbing.

It is being reported that Rep. John Conyers (D) of Michigan settled a sexual harassment complaint back in 2015 with a staffer for $27K.

----------

Last week, the Office of Compliance released additional information indicating that it has paid more than $17 million in settlements since 1997. That includes all settlements, not just related to sexual harassment, but also discrimination and other cases.

Conyers was 86 when the complaint was brought. My mother, God bless her soul, used to call these types of characters "old goats." Give it a rest, John.

If an 86 year old man tried to sexually harass me, I think I'd give him a round of applause just for the effort! :lol2:

Sweet Laura Ingalls (Melissa Gilbert) has accused Oliver Stone of sexual harassment as well.

As these accusations continue to multiply, I think a key factor that should always be considered when thinking about penalties is the difference between misconduct and harassment or abuse.
