In regard to this particular topic - I'll throw 'em all.

Not a Franken fan by any means but IMO some of those allegations against him were more along the lines of inappropriateness rather than harassment. The woman who allegedly had her side breast grabbed during a picture - what power did Franken hold over her? He was a comedian at the time. How are you going to sit there and let a man grab your breast and not say anything at that moment?! Thank God for my mom who raised me to always find my voice and not take any crap!

 

From what I have read - a) she was asleep after a week or two of non-stop shows and b) the power thing was that this was revenge for not open mouth kissing during the skits.

 

Like you said - as a comedian behavior will often be more bawdy without necessarily being Winestein-esque. That flak jacket seemed to keep him at bay. There was a chuck of political piling on. But that seems the name of the game for the politicians in this saga.

I’m not talking about that woman. There was another that came forward who I think was a member of the military. She had a picture taken with him and claims he grabbed her side breast while putting his arm around her. There have been 8 women so far who have come forward.

Interested to see the next salvo of accusations and resignations.

Franken may be a cad. But there are worse cads for sure in DC.

We can add these names from DC to the list:

 

Rep. John Conyers, Democrat Michigan ... resigning.

 

Rep. Trent Franks, Republican Arizona ... will resign at the end of January.

 

Rep. Blake Farenthold, Republican Texas ... under investigation by Ethics Committee.

 

Washington is gaining fast on Hollywood.
