I did not think it would be much of a competitive game for MC either.

It just strikes me funny, that Bracken would want to poke at Mason County's schedule. Pick Six couldn't have said it any better. When u have down years, u must get morale for the troops somehow. But, with that being said...why not have your coach at Bracken contact Thomas and schedule a game or scrimmage next year. See where u all stand in football with us? Trust me...I have a lot of respect for those Bracken kids. I have actually coached both Fishers in AAU basketball. And my son is really really good friends with Brady Jones. So, I truly wish those kids nothing, but the best.

Mason offered to play Bracken and even told them they Mason would go to Brooksville two years in a row to get a game. Bracken declined the offer. I believe that is why we are playing Lewis instead.

I find it interesting that Mason was so interested in playing Bracken— what do they have to gain from it?

Understand your logic, but that's Mason's risk if they are willing to take it. Bracken's program is developed enough to start scheduling up for playoff readiness. I honestly believe Bracken has the horses this year to send Royals back east with an "L".

My Braves are struggling. I was hopng they would at least win one game this year. I giess they have another shot.

Both the Grant & Mason staffs are maximizing their kids and what they have. I was able to attend the game. Both teams played hard & were well-coached.

Agreed. Game could have been a lot closer had Mason not stopped Grant three times on downs or had Grant gotten another foot on the last play of the first half.

Why is Mason County playing such a weak schedule?

 

Mason county played & beat Casey county , Paris & west Jess in scrimmages before the season started before some of players for MC started to go down, they was beating a Paris team comfortably who ran the scoreboard up on the polar bears , I understand it was early in the season and teams fix things but just throwing that out there

We have tried to play Bracken multiple times even a scrimmage or in a grid and they have declined. They’re players and fans want a game but the coaching staff knows the truth Mason would win big. If not then drop that Indiana team and play the first game of the season! It’s easy to compare scores in the lower grades but Friday Nights are a completely different world. As far as the schedule goes we have a hard district so therefore we schedule teams for as needed rather it be to have built in bye weeks or rest. Any other years when the district has been weak the outside of district play has been tougher. We have scrimmaged Casey Co top 10 3A, We beat Paris so bad that they started a fight after the whistle because they couldn’t win between the whistles, Fleming Co top 10 3A, and Scott High top 10 4A. So instead of being a keyboard warrior put the pressure on your administration to schedule a game.

Bracken has nobody that could slow down Devine. Mason wins this one.
