THIS...Eddie has completely changed the culture, and as long as he stays, I honestly don't see them losing to the Birds.

 

Eddie is consistent, aggressive, and extremely confident. Terry Brown is consistent, aggressive, and extremely confident. Warner is consistent, aggressive, and extremely confident. That whole staff is that way. This was a group that was well put together with Tony B. bringing Eddie in and Eddie bringing in guys that shared his ideals for success. Add this type of talent, and you get a fun season for Colonel fans. As an old teammate, I'm glad to see Eddie, Terry and any other of the NewCath grads having so much success.

 

As for Highlands, I hope for all of the kids that I watched grow up, that they are the group that rights the ship. They are good kids and hard working kids. Hopefully it all comes together for them.

No, not around in late 80's/early 90's. I'm guessing running clock is 10-15 years old now? Maybe 20? Definitely a good rule, except for the backups that could use precious reps.

Reason I asked, was the timing of the rule change means the '87 defense probably played no time shortened games. Just another example of how comparing teams from different seasons (especially different eras) is an invalid journey.

Agreed, it is a tough exercise to compares teams from different eras. But this team has a chance to be ranked very highly in the history of CovCath. That being said, there are many individual players from past teams that would easily start/contribute on this years edition of Colonel football.

I left at the half but watched the 2nd half online and didnt look like the Birds even targeted Vennamon the entire game. Did CovCath take him out of the game or is it a case of Schoellman not having enough time back there?

 

In the first half it looked like they shaded the Safety to his side somewhat.

I will certainly give the coaches credit and it may very well be development, but Good Lord, that's some crazy talent on that team. Long-term is where coaching will show. Talent Pools gets deeper and shallower, how coaching adjusts is the key.

 

Can't say I watch more than a few Colonel games during the year, but over the 30 years I have been paying attention, this is the most talented team I can remember. I simply don't see them being stopped.
