Looks like lots of ARs and at least one stack of magazines. One of the ARs had what looked like it had at least a 30rd clip. In the background you can see what appears to be an empty 30rd on the ground and next to that a stack of 10 or so more.

When I heard that quote earlier it hit me hard. It hasn't been mentioned by the media much in terms of questions for the press conferences. But yes, I believe there is something to look at with that comment. That's a really odd statement to make for someone that supposedly isn't involved. Unfortunately, with the ISIS presence in the Philippines in recent months I'm not so sure they are not involved in this.

My guess is most of them are 40 round mags. Not that it matters much when you have 23 weapons in the same room.

JD, I haven't been able to follow the news conferences consistently. Have they released a number of wounded from gun fire?

Just basing it off reports the next morning that we'll over 500 were injured plus the number killed, which puts it right at 600.

 

They lowered the total injury number under 500.

Translation: There was more than enough ammunition left over to have continued the shooting for another half hour or so.

If you're dead, how does the publicity help you any at all? I don't care about the person's name after something like this, I'm more concerned whether they are still stealing oxygen from the rest of the world.

 

It is about others who might commit a similar act and see the publicity that the shooter receives. Mass murders should not get recognition for murder.

I read somewhere that he was planning to escape. How exactly did he think he was going to pull that off?

One thing I would like to see in these mass shooting cases is the media use the shooter's name as little as possible. Once he is initially identified, I would like to see the person referred to as the shooter or some other name after the initial articles. I don't want people getting publicity off of these acts. Use the shooter's name as little as possible.

 

I get where you're coming from, but that totally flies in the face of how the news works. All of us have been around long enough to where we should understand that part. But go on thinking that news media coverage somehow intends to glorify the event.
