How about the young Mr. Collinsworth? I hear he's pretty talented. How might he factor into the equation?

He is very talented and a tough kid. He doesnt mind taking blows but probably still a little light to be a featured back. I think he could help them at the reciever position and maybe in the defensive backfield in certain situations this upcoming season. If he can get his weight up to 180 or 190 I think he could be the next coming of his uncle John.

Oh, I don't know. Those are pretty lofty heights to strive for! ;)

Hey, with the Bankemper/Collinsworth genes....this kid has unlimited potential and probably alot of expectations. I think he also has the work ethic so it should be fun to watch him over the next few years.

I went to school with Uncle John from 3rd grade through graduation.

So I don't doubt those genes at all.

....all this talk about talented HHs kids and nobody has mentioned Oliver Head??? He'll figure in somewhere...if he can...pardon the pun...keep his "head" in the game!!

Yessss.... I knew I was leaving someone out. Ollie is a tough kid and will factor in probably more on the defensive side of the ball. JMO

He is a tough runner but runs pretty straight up and short yardage situations maybe good to bring him in on. He could be a DB or possibly one of the linebackers

Highlands will not be on Trinity's schedule next year. T has filled that suspect date with Cinn. StX.

That should be a big time game. Where's it going to be played?

I don't think Ollie last year fully returned to form from the severely broken leg he suffered his frosh year (one of those bad breaks that required a rod to be inserted, which to the best of my knowledge is still in there). I know he continued to have pain in it. I also think, but don't know, that he was still a little tentative and that caused him to run more upright than normal. Hopefully this year he'll put it totally behind him. In the 8th grade he was one of the best running backs I ever saw in the Junior Football League (Kramer was, imo, the best). If he regains his confidence and running style, he, Conner and Crawford will give the Birds three very, very good running backs. Which allow Collinsworth to play wide receiver or defensive back and help the Birds out at those positions.

Last year's spring ball was pretty anticlimatic from a "who will be at what starting position" perspective except pretty much for the qb, one cornerback and safety positions. While the qb spot will still be up for grabs this year (unless Dale decides to stick with Cecil, and only Dale knows that), there are a whole lot of positions to be looked at this spring. Will Guiduigli earned the qb spot? If so, does Cecil more to rb or wide receiver? Or does he just play defense and if so, which spot olb or safety? Can Collinsworth grab a starting receiver spot or does he play corner? Does Ball move to offensive guard, freeing up a ilb spot for Newman, Roller or Alford? Does Stine move to the defensive or offensive line opening up the te for Jurgens or another ilb spot? Does Fitz move to olb to utilize his quickness? Who steps up and claims the offensive linemen spots? Does Rosenhagen move to nose guard to challenge Funaro?

Bird will have a lot of very talented skilled position players this year; I think more than last year. The question is, what positions will they play? With Rodenberg apparently staying at CovCath, I think Dale has to place his first priority on putting together the best defensive backfield he can, and then move from there. Spring ball will be very, very interesting this year that's for sure. Can't wait for it to get here.

All the soilders are definately there, but will the General and his officers be able to lead the men? I am a little sick and tired of all of the excuses about this injury or this dropped ball or this missed tackle or even maybe the best one I ever heard, "We worked on our game plan all week long and they did'nt do what we thought they were going to do". The bottom line is until the General is willing to surround himself with the very best people that these great athletes deserve then its going to be another year of (hows this go now CovCath defense, you saw it almost 35 times in one game ) A Pat on the Head, one tummy rub with the right hand and a leg kick that resembles a crippled dog and wall'la a QB draw. That IMO people does not exploit these talented athletes gifts, nor does it win you State Championships. Somethings got to give in the offensive coord position/ QB coach. I hope the same mistake isnt made again in 2007.

Hate to say it but you are absolutely correct sir........By the way I like your disguise Ted........  I totally agree the former Milford Eagle needs to find another profession. The play calling the past few years has been horrible. HHS has been so predictable that my nine year old knows whats coming....It seems that they come in with a game plan and if it doesn't work there are never any adjustments made. Hopefully they get somebody up there that knows what they are doing..........GO BIRDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!:thumb:

I believe that the most storied High School program in the State of KY deserves better than what they have at the moment as far as a Off Coord / QB coach. Not sure how that application got shuffled through the process. There are coaches out there that could/will only dream what it would be like to call plays for these talented superstar players that can put up 40 on just about every team HHS plays. Its just not right that this is not the case. Nothing better than to see God given talent set free and allowed to do their thing. It did'nt happen in 2006 and unless the changes are made then it will repeat itself for years to come regardless of the "ALL AMERICAN" talent. PS - If somebody is in "the know" then pls pm me and make my 2007 a happy new year!!!!!

I thought Trinity did pretty well offensively this year.

Trinity is not the most storied program in KY HS football. That title either goes to Male or Highlands. Trinity has not won enough games all-time to be "the most storied ever"... just as the U. of Kentucky is the most storied college basketball program of all time, even though they are not tops right now or have the most titles.
