When I worked for Enquirer Media, our talking points for ad rates were always based on readership....we rarely talked circulation/subscription numbers since that number is always lower.

The number I've always heard is that there is a 4X multiplier. For every paper purchased, four people will read it. That seems to be widely accepted across the industry, but it is still ultimately based on subscriptions and single-copy sales.

May 4, 20179 yr How many people do you know canceled their cable or satellite service because ESPN slants left? I can honestly say I know a handful of folks who said they'd never watch again since the Caitlyn Jenner debacle. Whether they followed through with that or not, I haven't checked.
