ESPN Cutting Employees Today

Featured Replies

I find listening to LeBatard's show like listening to fingernails on chalk board. I have tried to listen but just cannot...and it is not just because of his politics, which I don't agree with usually. I just don't find his attempts at humor funny AT ALL. I know some disagree with me, which is fine, but I would rather listen to just about anything over his show.

The most annoying thing fans of the show say is "You don't get the show".

LeBatard is a big part of the problem . He is now a talent maker.

Agree to disagree. He has one of the best shows going IMO.

-ESPN still does a good job broadcasting and covering live events.

-PTI and Around the Horn are still good to watch and often interesting.

-Mike and Mike has gotten really hard to watch/listen to as they are so focused on so few talking points each day the show just bogs down over a couple of things and is just too formulated.

-30 for 30 which they broadcast and have little to do with production are still very strong.

-E:60 is also good programming

-Sportscenter is so hard to watch, they bounce around so much you never know what's next. I wish they would run a ticked on the side so that you would know what was coming up next...maybe they do, I haven't watched in so long I couldn't say.

-I liked Skip and Stephen A. early on but the show turned into a shout fest and with new guy it's even worse.

I'd rather watch Highland games where guys are throwing telephone poles, International Ping Pong or Dodgeball than what ever they program from 10am to 5pm each day.

I have always really liked Mike and Mike but I agree with this point. The other day they kept going back to the topic of some anonymous Giants players saying the coach had lost the locker room. Bring it up? Fine. But to devote most of the first hour on it? C'mon, I mean how many in their audience really care that much about the 1 win Giants. Oh well, in another week or two, it won't matter...I think when Wingo takes over for Greeny, the show will not be nearly as good.

I think Greeny has been the one that has been the most boring. I like Wingo and hope the show picks up some when he comes on...but if there is going to be a strong Golic Jr. presence I'm not sure how much I can listen to him. His voice just grates on my nerves.

I hope Jamell Hill gets the axe.

What did people watch on ESPN 5 or 10 years ago that was better than what they are doing now? The only thing I used to watch which I don't anymore is SportsCenter.

I find no pleasure in people losing their jobs. I mean besides Sarah Spain, if she loses her job I will light a cigar.

Barstool may go buy another company if that happens.

Hank vs Tex in the Rough n Rowdy will be the best money I ever spent.

Can't wait...

ESPN is like MTV. It ain’t what it used to be.

Did you buy the last PPV ? That $5 was worth every penny. If they go $20 I'm still in.

That’s gonna be worth the price of admission alone.

I did. Laughed my rear end off for 4 hours...

I think people probably liked it better when they looped SportsCenter reruns back-to-back. But at some point ESPN realized it was more valuable to have these “hot takes” shows on instead. The market is saturated with them now, and people like Skip Bayless feigning complete idiocy has lost its shock value. At the end of the day their bread and butter are live sports and recap shows, but I think there’s a ceiling on the eyeballs who will tune into SC daily.

That’s just one person’s unresearched and probably ill-informed opinion. Maybe they’re just out of touch now. Matthew Berry’s new fantasy show is cringeworthy, and I hope that’s not what they think younger viewers like.
