That's an interesting hope. After all, her track record seems to be that she's been throwing money at candidates for years to get to this job; why do you think she just won't throw some more money out there? :thumb:

I don't have a problem with the thought but it's not like they've been all that trust worthy throughout their constituency either.

Do Charter schools that are being subsidized by tax dollars get measured and scrutinized the same way as public schools? If private/charter schools have students using vouchers, I think they should be supervised the same as public schools.

When did she make that clear? It wasn't when she was asked during the confirmation hearings in the committee.

Under DeVoss, will standardized testing still be the criteria by which school districts are evaluated? I really feel this criteria needs to be changed based upon how prepared graduates are for college, trade school, or the work place.

I see so many kids with 30+ ACT scores failing to survive their freshman year of college.

In some ways I believe it's because the discipline of critical thinking is being lost in the education system as we teach to a test score that is mandated.

 

When they get to some very good colleges the students are asked to critically analyze and think for the first time and defend their conclusions.

I have not and I really mean this, not watched her hearing at all. I see on the news that she had some terrible answers. I watched Sessions hearing as much as I could so I have a little better handle on that one.

 

Having said all that, I think they could have done better based on what I have heard and saw. I dont think anyone on this board wants anything but the best for our children. I also see she has been confirmed and for the sake of all our kids I hope her job performance is better than the answers I have read about.

Me to Mcpapa. I have two that are college grads with jobs, one thats a sophomore in college. Oldest getting married in May. Thats gonna mean grandchildren. I need to pay more attention I guess.
