February 10, 20179 yr These clowns should've been arrested. Protestors Block Sec. DeVos from Entering School This type of protesting will only continue until the cops do something about it. Lock them up for a good while, maybe others will think twice before they disrupt. This isn't protesting.
February 10, 20179 yr I grew up on a farm raising tobacco and dairy. My father was a HS chemistry and physics teacher at Harrodsburg HS until he was drafted into Vietnam. He came back and went into the family business of farming. I've been a "ditch digger" and been around many all my life. I've been a teacher for 15 years. I'm not saying one group is better, more important or any of the sort. I have a very high regard for people who work labor jobs. It is also pretty clear some have some pretty big misunderstandings of the world of education. Many of the things parents use to teach their children are now taught by teachers. Those in education refer to it as the hidden curriculum. Some of you would be amazed what we have to teach kids. There are many of my students raised by grandparents or single parent homes that aren't good. Social and life skills we have to teach them. For some of these kids we spend more time with them than their guardians. We know more about their lives and problems. We are more involved with them. Now we can all say teachers shouldn't have to do this. People act as if they know what a teacher's day or environment is like. I don't know too many larbor jobs where the general public believes they know how to do their job. Even how to do their job better. In fact many will admit they don't know how to do the job. Education is one of those jobs where everyone believes they know how to do it but none want to do it.
February 23, 20179 yr HYPOCRISY: Look What Elizabeth Warren Wrote About School Choice in 23 | The Federalist Papers Never seen such hypocritical people. Do they forget what they say. Is being an obstructionist at Americas detriment worth their power grabs.
March 1, 20179 yr For those that believe she is a tad out of touch yesterday's comments about HBCU's will only add to that belief. "HBCUs are real pioneers when it comes to school choice. They are living proof that when more options are provided to students, they are afforded greater access and greater quality." School choice. Beautiful.
